Anyone dressing up for the Pirates premier? If so, what does your pirate garb look like? Also, How do you women wear your hair?
I plan on wearing my breeches, jerkin with tails, shirt, frock coat, and boots...and my hat o'course. My hair will probably be tied back with a ribbon...either curly or straight. No idea yet.
My boyfriend and I were going to, but we're busy packing to move into a new apartment and my garb is packed up 2 hours away! It's very sad, but I'm still excited about the movie!
The boy toy and I are planning on showing up opening night in full pirate garb- sans swords me thinks.
I invited my mother to come along, we will see if she is brave enough.
If she comes I am thinking of clapping her in irons so she feels included ;D
*edited cause apparently I cant read*
I didn't see the part where you asked about outfits

My pirate group is going on Friday in full garb. BIG group, too! Unfortunately I will be at a friend's graduation instead, oh well.
Speaking of Piates... Does ANYONE know where to find a hat like Angelica (Penelope Cruz character in PotC4) I could make one IF I can find the right blank. Meaning flatter top not so found, cut the brim down and curl it on the edges.
I'm assuming you are referring to this hat.

It is a variant of a Spamnish Imperial hat style popularised by Anne D'Authriche after 1650.
Check out the hat on the far right. (http://www.dirtybillyshats.com/oldsite/) As with all felt hats, these are customizable and the brim can be rolled to your taste, and the crown can be rounded out or made flat.
A change of hat band and this one might fit our needs. (http://www.makebelievecostume.com/detail/RB-49109/Musketeer_Hat_.html)
Since I am 7 months pregnant, and definitely not fitting into my pirate bodice. I may just break out my pirate hat :)

That is the hat, but neither of those are quite right. I almost think getting a blank from Jas Townsend and making one. I found 2 others on another site called the Dutch and another The Quaker that are close as well. The Dutch had to flat of a crown.
What do you think of this one?

That one is the Coachman Hat. I have purchased the Planter hat from them, and it is very good quality.
I want to dress up and go at midnight, but I have no one to go with. So while the going at midnight may very well still happen, the dressing up part probably won't. :(

Aww! :( If you lived near me I'd invite you! ^^
The hat in question looks like a Tall Hat. Here is a link to Tall Toads Tall hats. You might want to add a longer feather. http://www.talltoad.net/tall-smooth.html
On a similar note it appears that PC is wearing a brocade underbust bodices that looks to be a Damel Design.
If it wasn't the PP and I's wedding aniversary we would be going to Keith's Comic's special showing of Pirates. Imagine being in a room of 150+ Pirates fans, where they have a drawing for all kinds of swag, and goodies. (I won a licesenced replica of the Hatter's Hat at the Alice and Wonderland showing). If you are in costume, no odd looks because the guy next to you is wishing he wore his/hers. Nothing like the feeling of being a geek in a place where the guy next to you understands your geekieness. ;D
Um, I think that's called a Renaissance Festival! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
That was my thought to, but think of a 'Rennie' movie where the whole theater is full of fellow rennies. Add in that this movie theater allows beer, and hard alcohol, and yeah.... you can understand why we have so much fun at these showing, and don't mind paying a little extra for it. ;D
