Title: belt accesories
Post by: ophelia murdoch on June 28, 2011, 05:52:43 PM
i'm looking for something i saw this year at scarborough. it's a leather item for a belt that, if i remember correctly, is more like a box than a pouch. i'm looking for something sturdier than a pouch because i want my camera to go in there and i'd like it to be fairly safe. thanks!

Hi there!

I think I know what you are talking about.  Is it a very firm leather pouch/bag?

Try these shops:

Hope these help!

Back in the late 90's I bought a fairly stiff leather pouch from Dennis Thatcher (Thatcher Leather Artistry), whose booth was/is up near the privies and Elephant Walk at Scarborough Faire.  The Pouch is wide enough to hold a checkbook, tall enough to hold CD's, and it's probably 1-1/2" from front-to-back.

Take Care,

at MDRF my husband and I picked up leather belt "pouches" (for lack of a better word) that are shaped and stiff from the Holy Cow. We often carry our camera in one and I have never worried that it would get damaged. We wrap the camera in a microfiber cloth so the viewing screen can't be scratched (by keys etc...) and haven't had a problem.  Check out the various leather goods shops at your faire and you should be able to find something that you like and go with your grab.

I recently purchased a gorgeous belt pouch from a seller on etsy.  Here is the link to her shop.

She is wonderful to work with and the shipping is very fast.

His lordship has one of these and it protects his small digital camera very well. I think he bought it at TRF.
