This may be my last season as a vendor @ TRF. The booth will still be there, just not me or the wife. After doing this for I can't remember how long, we're tired. We need a break. My owner may call upon us in an advisory capacity & for training but that's about it.
Upshot of this is that I get to come play & hang with you guys, see shows, actually enjoy faire. Breaks really don't allow much more time than a food run.
Come see us this season.

Ravic..... just look at it as a new an exciting chapter in your life. Once again enjoy the faire with your wife as a visitor instead of an employee. I am sure many will buy you a drink and toast you.

I second that sentiment!
It's nice to be able to spend time with friends at Faire! I hope Scally and I will get the chance to wander the lanes with the two of you next season... :)
Is the bookstore part of Creative Life in Spring? I LOVE that church. it is too far to regularly visit, but I subscribe to both the Wednesday and Sunday sevices and listen to them on CD.
Yes, it is. We've been at faire for 18 years.
Drat! Ravic, I have the RPG out, but the first novel won't hit the shelves before faire :(
...unless you want to do an RPG signing, which would be a little odd, being a sci-fi RPG at a ren faire :D
When my dad passed away, my best friend helped clean out his house because she is just that fabulous of a best friend. She gave an old TRF poster, and maybe some pamphlets to someone at your church. She told me to ask you if it was you and your wife.
That was you?!? I got some of them and the rest went to my most excellent friend, & head hawker, Molly Bookwench. Got quite a merry band of rennies at our little church.
Yup, that was me!

OK, it's official now. Yesterday was my last day as a booth manager at TRF. Just have to do final inventory, clean the booth, & hand over the keys to the new manager.
To those who have come to visit me over the years, thanks. To those that have come to patronize my shop, double thanks. Please rest assured that the shop will still be there & will be in capable hands. I'll still be in the background to hold their hands but will not be working.
My years as a worker/manager at TRF have been some of the happiest of my life. I value the friends that I have made & consider them more than family. Thank you for being there with me.
So, now I'll finally get to see some shows, hang out in the pubs, & make it out to the camps.
But first look for me at Sherwood & Scarby.
Namaste
You will be missed there... but only as a permanent fixture in the shop. You will be enjoyed as a lane companion even more, however!!!
It was wonderful seeing you this weekend, and I have to thank you for your help with the book! Scally is going to enjoy it immensely... once I let her read it!!! :D Because it was supposed to be a Yule gift, I'm not letting her have it all at once, but I did tell her she can read a single page a day until the holiday gets here... That way she won't just devour it the way she does every other book she gets her hands on, and she'll savor it slowly!
Yes, I'm also enjoying torturing her with it... just a little. ;) :D
What else are Mom's for? :D ;D
Exactly! LOL I'm going to have to go to the shop's website and choose another title or two as well, though, because she was just so very excited by all of the books you had there... Her birthday is in March, so maybe I can get a couple more for that, as well!
Trust me...it is GREAT to be on the outside!!!! I worked this faire so long and now I am free to play and LOVING it...the first year was hard because you feel like you need to be *somewhere* doing *something* but you will get over it! Cat
I've actually heard this from a couple of other people, as well, both former cast and vendor, so I'm guessing you'll be having a whole lot of fun once you have time to play more! ;) :D
