Title: Input from the creative masses
Post by: bellevivre on August 10, 2011, 10:45:22 AM
ladies- help me decide what I'm making for this year!

Black moresca Pirate bodice, beaded with clear aurora borealis beads... what color skirt? I'm thinking any color, jewel tones, like a patchwork of bright colors...but... I'm hesitant... I mean, AB is multicolor, and my wings are shimmery like that too... lol the idea is just more 'out there' than I typically do!

of course, if I don't start in on the beading soon I wont have anything! at least I don't have to have anything done till AHE...

This may be way off target for you, but my mind immediatly went to tulle. I'd tend toward a neutral to highlight the pastels in the wings and the beads. Maybe make it so it's cut shorter in front. Maybe a soft grey, ....or black even since it would be so floaty and a bit shimmery in itself. A jewel tone could work too. Maybe blend a jewel tone in with the neutral? I'd suggest taking the wings and beaded bodice along with you to shop. See what color jumps out at you.

I actually had thought about that- shortish in front (knee length) with a pair of capri leggings (embroidered?) I like the idea of pastels- winter faerie look!

An irradescent Silk in a  Sky Blue that has purple, green, and magenta threads.  That would compliment your Bodice as well as shimmer in the natural light. Plus, Silk would breathe and be cooler to wear.
