Title: Garb show and tell!
Post by: insidiousraven on August 21, 2011, 07:38:35 PM
I am always interested in seeing pictures of people out in the wild with their garb. The sewers post a lot, but as I am just getting started, I haven't sewn anything worth noting.  So even if you didn't sew it, post what garb you wore / are wearing this year!  I want to see all your fabulous outfits!

I got the bodice and split skirt from Moresca.  Made the hat and had the underskirt and chemise from a few years back.  Next on my list is getting a partlet, as well as sewing an HA kirtle.

This is my most current garb. The bodice is from Ophelia's, and reverses to blue. I also have a blue chemise I'll wear it with. The chemise in the picture is from a vendor at the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival; my hat/feathers/hat tack are from the St Louis faire (I added the trim myself). My "overskirt" is a bandanna from Old Navy, the shoes are from a thrift store, and the thing that looks like a sash is actually a woven purse I bought at Macy's.

My profile picture is a much better shot of my hat. Before I had my tricorn, I wore a headband I'd wired pink flowers onto as a "wreath". You can also see my coin in this picture.

And lastly, this is the "blue" version of my garb (same bodice as above, reversed). (This was pre-hat too!)

What a great idea! Thanks for starting it, Raven! (And I love your Moresca!)

Here's another fun thread with tons of photos:

I don't have anything new that I haven't made, but I'm hoping to pick up a new chemise/skirt at Fair this season, so maybe soon!

My current garb is this, though with my tall hat (it was too windy to wear it at the lake)

And if it's too hot, then I go for this look:

She purchased the ensemble from Medieval Collectables in March of 2012.

My fiance and I at the Michigan Renaissance Festival this year.   Her dress is from Pendragon Costumes, and she gets treated like a celebrity every time she wears it (little kids and adults alike ask to have their picture taken with her  8))  The trim on the dress is beautiful woven gold thread.  Her hat is from Blonde Swan, just purchased this year for her birthday.

I made my garb this year (as documented in the sewing forum).  My cavalier hat is from the Sheepskin Shop, I added a few more feathers for added flair, can't see them in the pictures unfortunately.
