Monday, September 19th, is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. That day there will be a special episode of The Saxon Files from 1pm-3pm devoted to nothing but Pirates. (which will be awesome. No show the 16th cause I'm going to DC for a wedding/MRF). That isn't completely why I'm posting though. For those who don't know UH has a bar that is technically on campus called The Den aka my home away from home. Now since I know the owners I have proposed to them of having a Pirate party that night where I'd be playing pirate music, in garb, and even have some prizes for the best dressed pirates.
Now they are open to the idea but before we go full ahead I wanted to see if there was any interest from any here of attending. They tried doing a toga party during the summer and the bartender, two of my female friends and myself were the only ones in Togas. This did lead to an open bar tab for me later in the night for best toga but we don't exactly want the same thing to happen here.
So, would there be any interest from any of those who go do the Firkin & Phoenix or anyone else nearby? It doesn't have to be pirate garb but any garb would help the event's atmosphere.

It be Talk like a Pirate Day so keelhaul a landlubber and prepare to repel boarders. Load the forward 16 with chain shot, the rest with grape. Sharpen ye cutlass and check the flint in your pistol.

One of the college's administrators came in this morning talking like a pirate...either that, or he was pissed about something... :D
For today, I'll be goin' by me new pirate name: Serene Brees de Menace...hope everyone's been enjoying speakin' like a scallywag day! ;D
