Title: Colorado Larkspur photos ...
Post by: Blushing on June 19, 2008, 01:13:20 AM
Everyone must be busy ... no one posted anything in our little corner of the forums yesterday!

My apologies for taking so long ... but my photos from opening weekend are up!  (At least the ones I deem worthy of posting online.)

Here's the site: http://picasaweb.google.com/blushingbiggins/CoRFJune1415 (http://picasaweb.google.com/blushingbiggins/CoRFJune1415)

Enjoy!

And if anyone else cares to share their links, post them here.   ::)

Blushing

Thanks for posting those. I hope to have my camera back from repair by closing weekend so I can take some. I'm not a fan of Toki's camera and refuse to use it unless it is a must.

I actually did not take any photos this weekend...goodness what's wrong with me!  We were really busy though.  I mean to get a chance to get some this weekend though.  I might also bring along my video camera.

I had forgotten my camera last weekend, though I had made sure to charge the battery.  :(

But I shall have it this weekend!

Nice photos, Gareth.  I recognize friends from Pittsburgh who are now part of CORF, and it's so good to see them again!  Our opening is still two months away, and it feels like such a longn wait!

Awesome shots.  I have to say that the one of the little boy in the kilt contest is about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

And you got some mighty sneaky candids of me in there, haha.   :D

'Tis true, 'tis true.  I love candid shots myself.  I must say though I had my photo taken probably a dozen times by what I'm assuming were "professional" photogs, with the massive monster tele-photo-lenses and all that.  I wonder where those pictures will end up...

I LAUGH at those guys with there massive telephoto lens. I have a camera... it's in the shop right now being fixed for powering up issues... that I call my paperazzi camera. I could stand at Zoe's pop shop and shot the joust in detail... if the hill was not in the way and I don't even have to add a super huge lens on it. It's all built in. It does look like a pro camera and it is considered consumer-pro. It will do night shots and many other things all the top notch camera will do. I hope to have it by back by closing weekend.

Funny story with it.

I was at a convension with a girlfriend. I had rode to the convension with her and took a spare change of cloths for the evenings activities. I walked out to her van at 5:30 at night to get my change of clothing and go back in to change. As I rounded the corner to the hotel we were at this guy was laying in his bed start naked as a jay bird. His room was all windows floor to ceiling and as I walked by he stood up and modeled himself for me. I was in shock to say the least and hurried out to get my cloths and go back in. He kept standing there in his window and I tried not to look. Needless to say he didn't have much to show. I changed my clothing and an hour latter went back there again was the gentle man on his bed still naked as can be. Once again he stood up and modeled himself for him. I hurried back in to tell my story and report him. At 11:30 at night as my girlfriend and I were leaving I told her "Now this is where the nude guy was. Sure enough as we rounded the corner his blinds were wide open and he once again stood up to model for us. We hurried to her van, I took out my camer and tried to sneak in the total dark to take pictures of him to post on the net. We wanted to say "DO YOU KNOW THIS PERVERT? IF HE'S YOUR HUSBAND LOCK HIM UP" So as my girlfriend and I tried to sneak he kept just standing there. I guess he saw us and wanted to model. I tried to shot a picture of him in the nude for laughs but sine i was still new to using my camera, and did not have a tripod to rest it on, I shook to much and the picture came out blured. We could see him though as clear as day in the view finder and we both got a good laugh and a funny story to tell. Had I been more experienced at the time, I would have had a number of shots to prove this story of. As it stands, it was a wee bit hard to make out.

I have a great picture of a Great Horned owl sitting about 75 feet in the top of a tree in my old back yard. I could barely see him, but with my camera I can see every detail of his face and eye's

These were taken at last years Cheyenne Frontier Days. I was on the 2nd level of the stands on the far side of the arena or about 100 yards away if not more

Take notice of the people in the stands opposite side

Just playing with F-Stop settings at sunset Memorial Day weekend 2007
(http://www.delaneyalysa.com/photos/fireinthesky1.jpg)

The same as above just with out the red and getting blue hues
(http://www.delaneyalysa.com/photos/bluesky.jpg)

As a Note NONE of these have been photoshopped or altered in anyway from what my camera took pictures of.

So yes I laugh at those overly huge camera's with their massive lens as mine does the same thing without all the huge extra cost and weight of lugging around. And it takes 8.1 megapixal pictures. And I can take black and white, sepia and many others.

Yes I did. I didn't take many as I HATE that camera I was using. I even hate Toki's, I'm spoiled. I'll get those others downloaded and get them up on my generic photo site and not my normal photo site this week. If anyone is interested you can view my photo work... or some of it. The site needs updated and some tweeks.

I thought that was him wandering about.  I can't wait till he puts up more photos, I know he got one of me while we were all singing "Tequila" with Celtic Legacy.  And I think he also got a posed one of me down by the Rose Stage, if it wasn't him it was someone else with a big camera, haha.  So many photographers!

As I walked past him he suddenly pulld up his camera. Toki walked right in front of him and I stopped for him. Toki was all like "What? Why you stopping? And I told him photog. So he stepped aside and Nelson got his shot. I may have broke his camera though LOL.

Oh ignore the pictures of me, I'm not a fan of having pictures of me taken :)

Hope everyone had fun this weekend. Sadly Toki and I could not go and we may not make it back until closing weekend :(

I want to see pictures of the rain on Sunday this past weekend! I wasn't there on Sunday because on Saturday, I broke out in hives... by 3:00 I was so itchy I couldn't stand it anymore and had to change into street clothes and work in those (which was a bizarre feeling, for sure)... and by Sunday morning, they were allllll over my body, from head to toe, and because I wasn't sure what caused it I didn't want to go into work in case it got worse. First time I called in sick in five years of working the festival!

I'm better now... looks like it was an allergic reaction to a few spider bites. BUT! I heard it rained all day yesterday, and I'm bummed I missed the first rain-out! :(

All the pictures posted so far are great, everyone. I love 'em!

DAMN, You Broke my camera... Well it was actually already broke before I took your picture with it and it was in a repair shop in Utah, SO technically I cannot blame you. But you didn't break the one I took THIS picture on. Personally I hate the camera I took this on. I think thats what happened. He took my picture and his camera got messed up.

Does anyone know what that Nelson fellow looks like? Out of curiousity.

And the rain was the weirdest thing. I was talkng to a few people and they had no sells at some f the booths. While people hid under mine and hardly ordered food. Then I was by myself after 400 and thats when everyone left in the faire decided to get fried food. Not fun.

Nelson Chen is a mid height, very skinny oriental man with glasses. He had a floppy jungle hat and wore almost all tan clothing on the 28th. He looked very touristy. As Toki and I walked by him just east of Zoe's in the food court he stood up very quickly to get a picture. Toki stopped right in front of him and I was telling Toki to move as someone wanted a picture.

You cannot miss him as his camera looks like it weights 500 pounds (not really) but it is huge with a huge lens. That camera must weight more than he does.

I've seen many people with huge camera's but as soon as I found out Nelson Chen was at faire taking pictures, I knew who he was.

I LAUGH AT THEIR HUGE CAMERA'S HAHAHA

OK Just created a page for my photos. (Yes I did the HTML for it) I'm not a fan of flicker or sites like that, but I think they are nice site. I just prefer to do my own coding.

Here is the link to all interested. All pictures were taken by me on a crappy little camera, accept two of me which Toki took (Yeah you heard that before, but it's true). Feel free to use and abuse the photos as you like, just don't sell them off as your own.

http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008.htm (http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008.htm)

Have fun. Some photos want to load slow. I'll figure that one out once I get some sleep.

See you all in the future and I'll be sure to bring my camera with the NOT so overly huge lens that takes pictures a long ways away. Just look at the owl or my Cheyenne Frontier Day's pictures I posted out here some where.

For those interested my other site (Which still needs fixen) is at. http://www.delaneyalysa.com/Transdimensional/Index.htm (http://www.delaneyalysa.com/Transdimensional/Index.htm)

Sad. I guess I wont get to see my pretty wench face online for everyone to see. Must have been one of those random guys with the 500 lb cameras for no reason. I just remember he was short, white and bald.
I will keep looking online however for all of you and I do hope to find some nice ones. I think Ill just take a picture of myself and make it look professional.

He's from California ... and he did take a bunch of photos of familiar faces from the boards - this year and years past (You can buy prints off SmugMug).

But yes, you do have to scan through a lot of belly dancing photos.

No Demetrius, your just a throw back to the 1960's Batman and Robin show where many places they went to where tilted, especially if it meant a fight was coming.

Did you feed them properly?

Mine loves to eat small children, stray cats and an occasional pirate. I missed a few pirates and they went on strike. It wasn't until I fed my fairies 2 extra children the stray cat from next door and 4 pirates did it start working again.

That peasant is rumored to be the Lady Remington, drugged by peasants, forced into peasant clothes, masked and let loose to roam the streets. The visiting Russian prince  (who has yet to recover his wardrobe carriage) and her Husband, My Lord Remington, may have believed her; however, His Royal Highness the Prince declares that she is not in fact M'Lady Remi, and is naught but a dirty peasant. As the Prince proclaims, so it is.

Sounds like Oh my GOSH Witch Craft has done this to the fine lady Remington. Maybe the filthy Prince is in on it out of Jelousy?

Speaking of witch? Which... yes thats correct.

Thomas and I thought it would be SO fun to have a three person troup for faire. One would be a an executionor, the other a beefeater type reading out a proclomation and the third a fine noble lady being pulled around in chains. She is accused ot... WITCH CRAFT and maybe treason. As the beefeater guy would keep reading out the charges she would scream out, No I am innocent. I am not a witch, nor did I try seduce the good prince and his Royal Highness. At points in the day the king would finally declare her death to happen follwing the joust. BUT with the joiust bring enough blood shead the king pardons her at the end which she is MOST greatful for. The executioner is not happy as he didn't make his pence and the beefeater guy starts his hunt for a new person to announce charges to.

Just a fun idea.

I'm still going through my over 750 photos. Oh what a task that is. I think I did about 150 yesterday in the time I had. At this rate I may have them up by next years faire.

Looking at Nelsons photos which are supurb, I swear his camera must have been right over my shoulder when I wasn't looking as some of his and mine look similar.

I only saw him once this weekend and that was after he left Zoe's pop stand in a hurry. Hum, me thinks he was following me LOL.  :)

My camera... Bigger lens? Nope don't need it, I get 12X Optical and then up to a 4X digital on top of that for 48X or 35mm to 420mm But than again i'm not a guy so why get a bigger lens. I'm happy with what my camera does.

Big enough for me. If I go to 48X I need a tripod as just the slighest breeze blures everything. Yeah I know you guys, bigger is better. But with a woman the only thing big we want is a checking acount so we can buy everything we want and don't want... LOL just kidding

As you can see, I got a few more processed tonight.  Like you, I am still working on my pictures.  It would be a while before I get them all processed and posted.  I would love to see yours when post them.

I agree with what you said in another thread.  The expressions can be more natural if the subject is unaware of the presence of the camera.  Of course, some of my subjects can produce fantastic smiles and poses on demand every time.  They are just simply amazing.  It is a real joy to photograph them.

There is another harpist. The older lady who wears pink with long white bloomers with pink edges and a woven hate that has the same pink in one of the circles (She walked by me the other day and I was impressed by how much pink there was). Very quiet, but she does a stint at gate. At least, I think that's a harp....  I don't think she does end of the day jam.

Are you referring to the little old Russian lady? Rather short? She plays a balalaika, a traditional Russian instrument. I believe her name is Anya or something like that. When I was there she never played closing gate but she did the morning session.

I am still in the process working on mine but I am not in a big hurry.  I like to work on some each night and that gives me something to look forward to after coming back from work.  Yes I have another day job and it can be demanding as well.

I will try to get more posted tonight. I may get an earlier start tonight. I am off tomorrow and hope to get more done... once I get some sewing done for Saturday noting major, just some minor repairs on my Katherine Parr dress hem (It likes to catch on things and pull out).

It is fun to do photography and see what you captured. It's a new experience everyday. With me I am so critical and tend to not be happy with what I have done. I know I can always do better (Yeah thats the perfectionist in me)

The pic of Twig was on Toki liked so I put it in. I actually have 4 or 5 more of her but will most likely not post them all. Some of the other pieces I have are just of buildings which have a character to themselves.

I will be back this Saturday to endure the triple digit heat that is predicted and the closing weekend crowds. I will be sure to take even more. I went and purchased two more 2Gb cards for my camera. Not that I will ever need them, you never know.

Thanks again and enjoy.

I go to Newegg.com The place I get ALL of my PC parts. Yes I even build my own PC's from the ground up and that way I know what I'm getting and don't have to deal as much if any with India support. (Actually never in my life with my PC's and I can get a rocking system built for $300 to $500

The 2Gb cards I got were 6.99. They were out of the ones i wanted at $5.99 Granted you pay shipping but if I were to drive to I-25 and 225 it would have already cost me more than I pay for shipping and tax. With shipping and expedited handling (Order Monday have them today) I paid a bit less than $28. Had I gone to buy them else where I would have paid that in gas alone (I live in the Northern wasterlands of Colorado caled Loveland)

Newegg.com is the place to go in my oppinion and almost every PC tech I now or work with.

Ok thanks Garth for making my geekness shine SHEESH!

Yeah same with Toki, I am his personal PC tech. If it weren't from me his Compaq would be slow as slow can be. But now, it's moving at what it should. The problem with installing OEM OS's is they have some much other stuff they put on that causes slow downs.

OK enough tech talk back to Photos

Ooh. You got a pre-operation photo of Holly, one of our cheerleaders. She had appendicitis the next day and had to have an appendectomy Sunday night. She's the girl in the green with the off-white hat and pigtails.

Yeah poor Holly couldn't get ahold of anyone that morning and was there for half the day.  At least they were able to give her something for the pain.

Here's an album from this weekend.  I took virtually no pictures during the season, bad me.  Anyway, the first half were taken on Saturday by my friend visiting the faire, and the second half is mostly backstage wench antics, haha.

OK Friends, Rennies, and Forum members, Page FOUR of Mardi Gras weekend is UP YEAH!. WHile these are NOT my favorites by any means, I tried to post some action shots. I still have more but will most likely move on to the Kings Birthday/Closing Weekend to get some of THOSE up.

You may notice a page that says ALL, Yes that works. You can now view the pages 2, 3, and 4 all on 1 page. It will take time toload as there are what 75+ photos on that page to load even if just Thumbnails.

As always feedback is welcome, as are comments. Please feel free to use them, jst please give credit where do it you chose to use them :)

Ok the page four is http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008_4.htm (http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008_4.htm) and if you want to brave the ALL go to http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008_all.htm (http://www.delaneyalysa.com/CORenFaire2008_all.htm)

I hope you all enjoy

New photos are up ... I might add more (strange things happen when your camera goes wandering about without you ;D), but these are my first top picks.  I tried to fulfill as many requests as possible.

Kathleen MacFerno ... I'm SO sorry I missed the last fire show.  I'm kicking myself for that ... I'm still seeing if anyone caught it on camera.

I've been sort of lurking about all season, snagging pictures here and there. I just really wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful photographers that have been... providing me with such lovely visual documentation of this year's season, each and every week.  You all are so very awesome. I'd have little to no pictures at all if it weren't for you all, since I could never seem to remember my own camera!

Thanks again!
