Title: Patterned for slops and their sleeve equivalent?
Post by: Sk8ermaiden on September 27, 2011, 10:07:27 PM
I don't even know what the term is! Are there any patterns for this? Tutorials are great too, but I am such a pattern girl....

Ugh, as a copy editor, I can't STAND to have my typos uneditable.

Here is the Panded Slops Pattern that I prefer using...http://www.patternsoftime.com/proddetail.asp?prod=FF04 (http://www.patternsoftime.com/proddetail.asp?prod=FF04) It's from Fantasy Fashions and works very well. The fabric used for the Underlining should work nicely for Doublet Sleeves.

Here are Paned Slops I made for my Husband using the Fanrasy Fashions pattern.

Hope this helps.

You can also use the Easy Elizabethan Doublet and the companion slops/pants pattern. (http://www.amazon.com/Alter-Years-Elizabethan-Doublet-Pattern/dp/B002SQR7T6)
Both patterns will ask you to sew the panes onto the lining but they will be more comfortable to wear and move in if you make them seperate pieces.
You can see one of His Lordships outfits here.

and another one here.

Dona!!  I have to compliment you as to how handsome you have the Don look!

Despite my bad knees, I curtsy as best I can. :)

Thanks so much for the patterns guys. I've been drooling over you guys' garb in the completed projects thread. Oh, to be able to sew like you can!! And of course my husband would pick garb that doesn't have a pattern.  ::)
