Title: Goodbye to The King's Orchard
Post by: MrHyde on October 25, 2011, 09:05:52 PM
Emailed to me today:

The King's Orchard is closing.  We've survived extreme cold, extreme heat, extreme drought and fires, but we lost our lease.

Come see us one last time!!!  We have pumpkins on sale for $3.00 each!!!!!  Or, take a hayride and go through our mazes for $6.00/person and get a free pumpkin!!!  The hayride is 15 minutes each way, and you can see the strawberry plants that we planted and that are going to go to waste.

Everything in our store is 50% off (except drinks).  We are also selling strawberry plants.  They are in flats of 50 plants and are selling for $10 a flat!!!!

We are also having 2 Halloween Costume contests!!!

One on Friday and one on Monday!!

Ages 0-5 at  4:00.  Prize is $35 worth of merchandise
Ages 6-12 at 5:00. Prize is $35 worth of merchandise
Ages 13-20 at 6:00.  Prize is 4 tickets to The Texas Renaissance Festival.
Ages 21+ at 7:00.  Prize is 2 tickets to The King's Feast and The Texas Renaissance Festival.

Come on out one last time!!!

It's sad to see it go. The place was awesome. My husband and I would go every year to pick strawberries and blueberries. One year we did figs and those were great as well. Of course, we couldn't leave the orchard store without buying a jar of pickles. Those things..... so addicting. :)
