I have a bee in my Henrician bonnet to make a peacock blue jacket/waistcoat (from the Tudor Tailor pattern), and I'm wondering if anyone has come across anything online lately that would work--wool flannel, velveteen, even corduroy...?

If you see something, let me know!
Gramercy!
Do you want it pre-embroidered (like a sari) or plain? And do you want a H/A fabric or would dupoini work?
Oh, good questions! I was thinking plain/solid, and something more hefty than silk (although Fabric Mart has a gorgeous dupioni!). I'm going to wear it with my coral linen dress (along with whatever else it occurs to me to wear with it), so it shouldn't be too "fancy." I have some leftover yardage of peacock blue velveteen from my first dress (not enough to make a garment with), which made me think of it.

It's not *quite* the color you are looking for but I think a box of teal dye would work on it.
Theres a bunch of wool on sale at fabric.com but I couldn't find anything in the color you are looking for.
Its mostly brown and 1 lavender
There are also some lovely creams, reds, and even a beautiful pink that I just picked up. You can dye the creams the right color.

Gem,
Joanns has some awesome AWESOME wool, it is 26.99 but with a 50% off coupon it might be worth it! I have been lusting after the grey myself, and blue and black as well.

Did you check out www.RenaissanceFabrics.net (http://www.renaissancefabrics.net) Diana has wool and I think you might something!

Oh, thanks, Cilean! (waves!!) I actually ended up buying two heavy velveteen curtain panels from World Market several weeks ago. I think they're going to work out really well.
I was just at Renaissance Fabrics yesterday, but only to grab a link; didn't linger long enough to drool over their stock. Guess I'll have to go back!
I just looked at their stock, wow! What beautiful fabrics! I just purchased some black on white embroidered cotton, waiting for it to get delivered. It's 98% cotton, and 2% lycra. I hope it breathes! Here's a link to what I ordered http://www.denverfabrics.com/p/11048/White-Black-Embroidered-Floral-Cotton
