Get ready folks...
Well there you have it. Change, it is inevitable. Will be an interesting time for sure.
Camp fee is 25.00 now. It will be interesting to see the changes made.

I have looked all over and have not found where they said they were charging $25 next year. Did I miss something?Nevermind. I found it. Still not too bad. I am sure that price has a lot to do with the extra security and such.
oops, sorry, meant to add the link. it is on the general camping info page:

Next maybe they will come up with a discount season camping pass for those who attend and camp all season.
Not to rain on parades, but....that 2 million is going to come from somewhere. I don't expect to see many discounts on any sort of passes at all. And if gate fees go up for us non campers, well....that is not going to sit well with us. I am glad they listened to many of us on this board in requests, truly I am. From what I saw of the grounds, they certainly needed it. But the cost is higher than I even discussed before in another thread, of course I did not know they were doing the roads as well.
Wow. Talk about change. Some of it sound good, but I'm afraid the feeling of camping is about to get a whole lot more commercial. Like someone said earlier, "Be careful what you wish for!"
We will take into consideration the fact that some like it rough.
86% of people surveyed said they wanted Bathrooms, Electricity and Running Water
Most people are in tents and we will keep almost ever thing they way it was last year for those people.
Knowing we have a couple different types of patrons in the campground we will make sure to keep your experience they way you want it for your style.
While I know it's impossible to make everyone happy. We did our research to try and add the things people kept asking for.
Hope you give it chance.
Thank you Terre for listening to the suggestions from many campers.
If you get a chance, come up to Sherwood Forest Faire during the 2012 season and I'll show you the campgrounds.
I ask because I have no knowledge never having been to TRF before. Can they accomodate a 38' motorhome. We probably won't be able to come before 2014 so by then the elec. water etc will be in. I have holding tanks so sewer connections will not be a deterent.

There is plenty of room for your motorhome, as long as you get there in a timely manor.
Thanks, Terre, for chiming in. Rennies are adaptable folks...
Thank you Terre for responding. I guess what worried me the most when I read the post is the prospect of camps having glaring electric lighting instead of torches and fires. We had a couple of guys park across from us this year with a big white enclosed trailer hooked to their truck. They had a string of extremely bright regular light bulbs plugged into a generator and it was like being in a Walmart parking lot! We asked them to unscrew the two closest to our camp and they were considerate enough to agree.
Our camp has been so pleased with what you've already done to better our camping experience. I'll quit worring and leave it in your capable hands to continue your work!
Perhaps an excessive light curfew to go with the noise curfew?

Breandan are you refering to the Quiet Family area? I'm asking because I'd hate to see a bunch of curfews and restrictions in the general area. If rules start getting added in the general camp area we may very well start lamenting our loss of liberties, so to speak. :)
they're adding in an excessive noise curfew of 2300 for general camping from what I gathered, but "excessive noise" is probably going to be up to the discretion of the officers
So the camp orgies have to tone down the screaming after 23:00? That sucks...
:D
I just hope the rumor about making rows 1-20 participant only is just that....a rumor. I cannot imagine having so many of us loyal campers moved off our beloved spots!
Lady Laura,
Just a rumor.
LOVE you Terre!

Lady Laura,
Just a rumor.
Terre, it is always good to hear from you. But be careful with how much you post on here, as you might get addicted like the rest of us. ;D ;D ;D
So glad that rumor got squashed. We are quite cozy in our area and would hate to be moved so far away. Although, I guess I can put that Carriage Taxi service back on the back burner (o:

I appreciate hearing this. Thank you.
Question???
Will the new camping plan force the RVs & tents to separate? Many of the clans/groups area mixed bag. Many of them use their group RVs as kitchens, babysitting areas, wall themselves off so as to reduce unwanted foot traffic, & a variety of other reasons. Breaking up the groups would probably cost you customers.
I believe this was addressed somewhere already - The answer as I recall is that the map is like the Pirate Code - Merely guidelines (o:
Yarrrr ;)
<screach> <screach> Moving soap box into position. <screach>
<Tapping microphone> Everyone hear me?
Okay, the plan and map being circulated are subject to change. Everything shown will not be available in 2012 <year 1 of the plan>.
As any long term project, the costs will determine priorities.
First is the infra-structure, such as the new access road, store, flush toilets, showers, and access booth.
Next comes some of the conveniences, such as water spigots and further road construction.
Overall goal is to control vehicle traffic into the Patrons campgrounds.
I will be hired as the clan/patron camping coordinator at about the year 3 point in the plan, where we should have some very desirable offerings for the clans.
I suggest that as few folks as possible ask to come onsite to see what has been completed, as you may not see the full story.
Once the clan reserved areas become a reality, I will contact all the clan leaders I have from my Sherwood Yahoo list, plus any others who contact me.
Remember, my involvement is still a couple of years into the future.

Reserved clan camping at TRF? This will bring a lot of questions, but as it is something toward the end of the 3 year plan I will wait and see how the grounds are when looking at Planned vs. Implemented.
Thanks for the info Mike.
Although not a member of any groups other than my own, I am excited and welcome any and all improvements. Anything that makes our stay more fun :)
