Title: Passing of a good friend...
Post by: Just Randall on April 30, 2012, 01:12:24 PM

Crossposting, because I can't say it any better,

He was not on cast, but he knew so many of you.

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and long time crew member, Karl Wolff. Many of you know him as Lord Vandor or Dragon, but he was always Karl to us.

On behalf of The Pirates Cove, we ask that you keep his wife, Pam, his daughter Scarlet and son, Ben in your thoughts and prayers.
...
We will post details of the remembrances as they become available.

For now, the best way to honor him is to remember him and the things he loved most. Have a drink in his name, wear something purple, change your profile image to a dragon, watch Tim the Enchanter or Rocky Horror Picture Show, post some funny memes or eat some bacon.

Above all, the best way to remember him is to be as giving and kind to all that you meet, love your partner completely and tell them so, and make sure to laugh.

Fair winds and following seas, Karl.

Oh goodness this is sad indeed.  I remember the first time I met Karl.  It was at my first McLot party at Niki and Ace's place.  The impression he left was of a soul that was open to adventure and that he had a very kind heart.  My prayers are with his family.

I knew Karl/Lord V/ Dragon for years.  He was always ready with a hug at TRF, or would find me when he visited Scarby to make sure I got a hug then, too.  He even ran me down on the parking lot once because he had not managed to catch up all day.

He was very kind, writing me a long missive when Curran passed away.  Perhaps they are raising a flagon in Valhalla and revelling the others there with tales of Faire.

May your light burn bright wherever you are, Karl.

Marga

Pass our prayers and thoughts to Pam and the kids. He will be greatly missed and one of the people I was surely going to find when we came down the TRF this year. You will be missed my friend.

I did not know the gentleman, but from reading your responses, he sounds like the kind of man that I should have known. My condolences to one and all for your loss.

It's always sad to hear a friend and member of TRF passing.  Our prays and thought are with his family and friends.  If there is anything we can do let us know.

On my first trip tp TRF 8 years ago, Karl introduced himself to me while working at the Pirate booth.  We knew each other from offsite through our mutual friends, but I had never met him until that point.

The warmth and kindness he showed me from that day forward will always stay with me wherever I go.  Performing as I do can be lots of fun, but very trying at times.  He was always there with a hug, smile and reassurances that things would be alright.

Thank you, Karl and I hope all of your ethereal dreams have come true wherever you may be.

Hugs

Em
