Title: Colors Given To The Queen~
Post by: Cilean on May 17, 2012, 04:46:23 PM

I have such wondrous news! Some research- extensive has been done to discuss exactly what colors would have been about in QEI's time.  This paper discusses the clothing that was given to QEI during her life time.  It is quite a read but will help many who want to get exacting colors, and also some insight as to how much lace and gilt as well as embroideries on pieces.

Not how many 'foreparts' for kirtles are mentioned, as if you add the front piece to the kirtle, which has been discussed in the past that perhaps the Bodies and Farthingale were one in the same, so you attached the forepart to this piece.  It is quite interesting!  I am currently working on a round gown in the color of Watchet, at the moment!

I hope the wrap works!
