I'm asking for your help. Please go to http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/exclusives/socialmadness and vote for TRF and help us beat the big corporate companies in Houston. With your help we can do great things!
Done!
Edit: Btw Terre I haven't seen this posted on facebook, have you guys? If not you should and I will totally share it out :)
Saw it first on FB, but I haven't shared it yet. I'll do that now.
Done and shared on FB.
DONE
Even though I haven't been to TRF for a while—23 years—I voted anyway...for TRF... I'm mad, I tell you! Positively MAD!
My vote has been cast, as well!
Voted! We are in second! Come on VOTE!
Thanks for the help! We are gaining ground on the Energy Company!
Voted. Even though I've never been to TRF. Come to think of it, I've never been to Texas! (Unless you count layovers at HOU...) ;D
I don't know if you can vote once per day, once per browser, or multiple times by clearing your browser cookies / cache. But I know I've voted twice on this PC using two different browsers (same IP address each time), and once from my work PC.
So - Vote Early and Vote Often! (clearing your cookies / cache between votes...) ;) ;D
Take Care,
David Baldock
I'm seeing different browsers and different devices...the clearing the cache/cookies didn't work for me.
I voted . . . good luck TRF!
Thanks for the votes and help. If you haven't noticed we are now leading all Houston companies! I bet they don't understand how TRF is leading, but I do. We have the best fans, family and workers in the world. Keep up the efforts and thanks again!
First off, I voted, and TRF is still top of the list.
Second, let me state clearly that Terre is the reason WHY I voted. I have never been shy about my criticisms of where TRF has been headed for the last decade and some change, having started out there 22 years ago, but I am seeing a LOT of turnaround happen with Terre at the helm. It is chipping away at my cynicism and giving me hope. Now, if he could just do something about the under-30 work ethic, public education, and reality TV, my faith in humanity might be restored :D
We voted for TRF once from each device, and with all of my teenagers, we sure have a lot of devices.
We're losing again...to a Real Estate company... :-\
Keep on voting . . . we can win this!
Actually we should be winning it. Colliers is a billion dollar company with 16,000+ employees. Definitely shouldn't be in the 'small companies' category.
I thought everything was bigger in Texas... </sarcasm>

Because of this post, I filed an inquiry. I didn't know this was the same Colliers we have in central Arkansas, BTW. I have received a reply from the Social Madness group. While at this time, I don't know if it will go anywhere, but they wanted to know more. So, hold tight until I hear BACK again. It is possible(?), I suppose, that Colliers will get re-categorized. I will post back as I hear....
We have been testing different ways we receive points. Because the scoring system is a secret we have had to try different things and watch our score increase. This is what we think we have figured out.
Points are received by:
New Likes
Comments or activity (liking a picture or someones comment)
Votes on www.socialmadness.com
While you can only vote once per IP address on thier site you can comment/like as many times as you want and you can still join our Linkedin and Twitter. Now that we know we can attack!
Long live the King!
They changed up the voting!!! Go vote again!
Looks like it's getting into the finals
I was just able to vote again from the same IP address. :)

I actually got a reply on this from someone with BizJournals:
"I checked with the folks running the contest and they said that in this case, they are eligible to be listed in Houston's competition because all of their links are Houston-specific, which means they are not directly piggybacking on the company's national social media platform. If they were to meet up with another Collier's along the way when the contest shifts to the national stage, they would not be allowed to combine their social media with any of the national branding and would have to stay local. Hope that helps to clarify how they devised the rules for this, and I certainly appreciate your concerns."
Somehow, I don't see a real estate company having so many happy customers that they would be able to generate that many votes, legitimately anyway. I think the guy missed my point entirely, because I was not concerned with the fact that they were competing in Houston, but with their classification as "small." Ah, well...
Just had a "Huh?" moment...if you look at that website again you'll see that Colliers has lost a LOT of votes, putting us back in the winners circle!! ;D ;D ;D Guess something changed for them.
Now that is more like it!
DONE...again. ;D
Wow! I find that incredibly interesting, Jessica. You think my inquiry caused an inquiry? I wonder if they discovered an automated voting routine.... ::)
voted!

I don't know what happened, but I'm glad you made an inquiry. If Collier's really has 16,000 employees they could have sent a company wide email out requesting votes. Of course, their previous total would reflect a serious amount of apathy considering the number of potential votes. ;D
Yes, a very interesting situation regarding Colliers--they're now WAY behind. I don't know what SocialMadness is doing to their site but I just voted again and it looks like it counted. I got the little security popup that makes you enter the letters you see and says "The first time you vote, you'll see this form. It helps prevent automated voting." Well, I've now seen that form 3 times for each time I've voted! I'm going back to see if I can do it again! ;D

Same here, so I voted again! :)
Ok, Bounce energy is up again and we can't let an energy company beat us in the next round! Vote people, vote!!
Let me correct that...Bounce Energy is beating us!!! HELP!!!!
I voted yesterday and when I went back to the site this morning, the vote count was still 4704 the same as it was before I voted yesterday.
Or is that not the vote count?
They (bounce energy) can't possibly have that many happy customers, they must have a lot of fb followers and they are working very hard to get votes.
at least the vote counts finally started changing.
