I know, 2012 is half way done. Where does the time go???
But!! It is not too early to ask, WHAT do you have in mind for 2013 that you want to make for yourself??? For some of you, your Faire season has finished, some started, and Faire yet to begin.
Here is an idea a very SPECIAL Lady has in mind for next year already...But with 2 sets of sleeves for different looks.

And don't forget my wedding gown, Lady Kathleen ;D
I sure won't. Serenity!!!
The pictured project begins right after Halloween. Yours, into 2013. It's already on the schedule.
Oh I can't wait to see what you so with the one you pictured here. It's always so exciting to see all the In Progress and Finished threads :)

Probably the biggest surprise of all....

Which is why Alan Rickman was the perfectly cast as Professor Snape. He looks delicious in all Black
Alan did not want to do Potter. He only accepted because his family threatened to never ever speak to him again. ;)
But I drool over this ensemble every time I watch Robin Hood. :)
For me:

This ensemble:

So far the customers want us to make this little lot!
(http://media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com/upload/186477240790662814_AwKxBj5m_f.jpg) with the addition of pointy lace, and one of these in different colours:(http://nttreasurehunt.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/2006al6827.jpg), plus a petticoat to go with it. There will probably also be something for another customer or two for the same event in February.
Quite Pritty indeed. ;D
For myself, I want this gown something fierce. I have the fabrics in my stash.

My dear Captain, I have no trouble picturing you as the Black Knight; but the monks do stretch the imagination a little. :-*
Teague is sooooo dark! Alan Rickman is one of my most favourites, in any role (Bottle Shock (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914797/), anyone? Out of dark character, but great flick!)
Teague might be able to pull it (Sheriff of Nottingham) off. I know he'll give it a shot. A monk, though??? ::)
Illi weenie, chili beanies, the spirits are about to speak....I see...I see....
a video cam in Teagues soon future, a demo of a monk and keyboards laid waste all around the world..... 8)

Every year I put emphasis on one sort of accessory so I think 2013 will be hats, because I need them and I like how when you have a total look it makes you feel better and you look better.
Cilean
I still have a very full list for this year still (A doublet, a full gown, an apron, a German gown, and only one of those items are for me!) but I do want to make a light up (as in real lights) bustle gown as sort of a Steampunk type gown. I'm going to start buying supplies in July.
Texas is a killer for heat. I need something really light and airy, but still wizardly...
Light and Airy would mean...Tinkerbell ;)
Though I get your drift, Merlin!

Hey! Y'all stop being so damn ambitious! I'm still in comfortable denial that half the year is gone. IT CAN'T BE!! . My 2012 list is barely touched. But then I did get a late start...
1. Move across country and set up new work space DONE
2. New Hat for Sir Robert Sidney (my brother) (Commission) DONE
3. Court suit for Sir Thomas Gresham (Commission) DONE
4. Finish "Green-clyffe" court ensemble for myself IN PROGRESS
5. Make set of sleeves and forepart with this great fabric I just found
6. Make a set of sleeves with this other great fabric I found
7. Make an Henrician gown for myself
5 and 6 aren't done but they've actually melded into number 7.
I've added to that list so I guess to be realistic those additions are my "2013" goals...
8. Make venetian courtesan ensemble
9. Men's court wear commission #1 (for Bristol)
10. Men's court wear commission (possibly) #2 (for RPFS)
11. Maybe just for gits and shinggles a lovely elven outfit
Guess i should get out of bed and start sewing, huh.

I appreciate your concern, DC, but you don't have to worry. While I may have been an Adonis at one point in my life...I believe it was January 13, 1974, between 9:30-9:35 a.m. ... I am not at this time, nor do I ever expect to return to that look. (Remind me to let the air out of your tires next time we're at Scarborough.)
Your sense of fun is what I like about you Merlin. :-*
The feeling is mutual, Doña! Truly!
ahhhhhh!!! I still can't decide what I want to make for this year. I have so many things I WANT but can't seem to commit to anything and actually MAKE.
Oh man...I'm in trouble.
Gypsy skirts! ridiculously colorful, swishy, side tucked into a belt with a lovely cascading waterfall of ruffles and colors coming over the side:)
Actually, if my classes aren't too heavy this summer, I may start some then. But, thats what I thought last October when I started my blue and burgundy bodice, and I just finished yesterday, about an hour before Faire started, so......:)
I'd like to just be able to get INTO my sewing room so I can work on something, anything--it's become the catch-all room (aka "junk" room) this past year or two, and I'll be happy to just HAVE a sewing room again...if it's not tamed by the end of this year, that may well become my project for 2013!

That sounds awesome. I know it wouldn't be HA for a gal, but I dream of making a female archers getup. I loved how the latest Robin Hood was more of a yeomen than a noble to start. It gave a much better connection to the earth for an archer. And I am obsessed with earth tones. But short of buying a Ravenswood dress, I would have to start now just to get all the lacing done..
I have decided on the NEW Gown I am going to make for myself for 2013. This one, inspired from ELIZABETH R. I have not made a new gown for myself since 2006 when the Mary, Queen of Scots gown was completed.
I envision this gown in a Darker Creme Brocade, Burgandy Silk contrast, the Frames trim Gold on Black with TONS of 6mm pearls. I plan to have this gown ready to debut at Bristol in 2013. Sooner if I have time.

Keep in mind that this will be done in my Spare time. WHATEVER that is. ;)
