And you know I will be trying them out!
One of my favorites is Drunken Ears:
Corn on the Cob (peaches and cream) shucked and chilled. You can use frozen.
Heavy duty foil
bacon-soft-fried, not crispy-one per ear.
butter
garlic
Beer
Make foil boats about 2" deep for corn.
Mix garlic and butter, thickly coat corn and place in foil boats.
Place on grill before you fill boats 3/4 full of beer or whatever it takes to just about cover the corn.
Place 1 piece of bacon on top of each ear.
Drop lid and grill over hot coals/gas 20-30 minutes max.
Fresh shucked corn.
coat lightly with oilve oil.
Mix 1/4 grated parmesan, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1 tabelspoon garlic powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper. roll oiled ears in spice mixture, then warp individually in foil.
bake or grill at 350 for about an hour.
I'm hungry...
My fave is throwing an ear on the barbie without shucking it first. Great with my BBQ chicken and/or ribs... with just a bit of butter and salt
I agree with Merlin, I like it natural.
But when it needs to be fancy I make corn kebabs.
Shucked corn, cut into 2 inch sections
Pearl onions (usually best frozen)
Green Pepper chunks(roughly 2 inch)
Cherry tomatoes (look for hard ones)
1/2 cup ketchup
1 TBS olive oil
1 TBS vinegar
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Stab the veggies on skewers
Mix the fancy ketchup
Mop the skewers with sauce and grill on medium
When I grill corn at camp outs, I like the soak 'em and roast 'em approach. Mom used to bury the (well wrapped) cobs in the hot sand, next to the fire when we went to the beach when I was a kid.
