I got married in May and we had a nerd-themed wedding with references to steampunk, medieval, Regency, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Stargate, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, The Last Airbender, Beauty and the Beast, and Phantom of the Opera. It was featured on Offbeat Bride here (http://offbeatbride.com/2012/07/georgia-nerd-wedding) and I started a blog going into detail about what went into it here. (http://weddingcon.blogspot.com/) :)
Freaking awesome! Congrats!
That was awesome!
Looks like y'all had an awesome day with your friends.
And, you have amazing blue eyes.
What fun and how exciting!
Totaly FREAKIN AWESOME Thanks for sharing especialy like the cake slicer ours was a Claymore.
What a fun and festive way to celebrate your love for each other, and for all things NERD! I love the mix!!! Congratulations!
Congratulations! What a wonderful way to start off your life together and then to be able to share it with your friends and family. :)
Absolutely amazing!
Congratulations! That's very cool. :)
Yay nerds!
I really wish I would have known about Offbeat bride before I got married...
Then again, the husband's family is pretty religious, and our wedding ( while for us ) also served as a small family reunion and a way for everyone to share. The only geeky things we incorporated were 1. He walked out to the Imperial March and 2. I walked out to some Princess Leia medal room thing. Hey, I'm the Trekkie/Dune fan, not the Star wars fan!
Though I do regret covering up my tattoo with makeup.. My plan was just to get a large necklace to somewhat obscure it ( not too hard actually ) but the Mother in law insisted.
Also, I see your an Avatar fan! have you been following the Legend of Korra?
Shared with my daughter (who is hopefully YEARS from marriage) - she loves all things nerd too. Looks like it was a very fun day for you and your husband!
It looks like you had an awesome time! Congratulations, and cheers for a creative idea! :D
Thanks all! It was a lot of fun. :)

Haha, I walked down the aisle to "The Throne Room" from Star Wars too.
I have been following Korra! It makes me particularly sad that TV seasons are so short now. :D I'm enjoying it.

First of all - Steampunk ( kinda ) heaven! Also, Bolin is the best guy ever, and I want to marry him and have little earth benders with him. I don't want to say anything else, I don't know if you've finished, but I will say the ending was pretty darn good and the 2nd season is shaping up to be even more amazing. The only bad thing in the first season is, I think, the pacing. At times, nothing happened, but then WHOOSH! Avatar stuff to your face! Hopefully they will fix it in the next season. :D
I've watched all of the first season. :) The ending was quite good, though I agree about the pacing. I think the end would have been better if they had stretched the content over another episode.
