Hated to delete all the previous threads, but alot of misinformation and misunderstanding was getting posted.
Henceforth, all information on the TRF Patron's Campgrounds will be posted on the newly formed "The Fields of Newmarket Campgrounds" Facebook page.
That way, you will have only one location to check for information and updates.
You can still post here to discuss the issues you see on the Facebook page, as I'll also check here to get any advice/recommendations, but replies will be posted on the Facebook page to make sure it remains the central information source.
Doesn't it seem easier to refer back to posts in threads here on RenFest Forums, rather than on Facebook?

Sorry, there are some of us who have never (moi) had a Facebook page (and never will) or have deleted their account because of all the BS that comes with social media... as well as all the data mining that is done by the goverment. This is as close as I will get, because all the people that i need to talk to stop by at least once in a while...

Aha! See, since you -said- you were Laird Fraser, you actually AREN'T Laird Fraser but a government clone sent by the reptilian overlords to undermine the sanctity of our faire community! you just want to stifle our awesome creativity by exposing us to DARPA testing and fluoride in the water! We see through you, you imposter!

( Also, all of those are real conspiracy theories. :D )

I cannot locate the Facebook page under that designation either. Is it active yet?
Polly, I liked the page yesterday so I know it is there.

Riot, can you copy and paste the exact phrasing of the Facebook page name, please. I just can't seem to get there searching in Facebook or Google. I get feed from the general TRF Facebook page and pull up older TRF campground facebook pages, but not this one.

Having been involved in "things" while working for Uncle Sam, I am never surprised by what depth the goverment will go... especially this present group of thugs. ::)

No. Eliminated all the multiple trails/discussions.
I too swore to never use Facebook. Unfortunately, that's the presently most popular social networking for TRF and SWFF. In order to concentrate on where the largest audience is, I have to follow the flow.
It takes me at least 2 hours each night to respond to the TRF campgrounds Facebook postings. Now, if I had to do the same thing here, that's another hour, making the same responses to identical questions.
Add in the time working on the Sherwood Forest Faire staff management discussions and camper questions, adds another hour every few days (things are far more peaceful there, as we have had 3 years to get folks happy and we started from Day 1).
Soon I will be adding Scarbourough Faire to my nightly campgrounds management schedule (if things go well later this month).
Glad I'm retiring from my paying job next year, so that I can devote my time to my unpaid campgrounds management duties.
So, I'll check here daily and make short responses, but detailed (i.e., policy) statements will only be on the Facebook page.
Oh yes. Mark your calendars for the Sunday before TRF opening weekend, say around noon.
Enter via the new campgrounds entrance on the county road (302 or 203, forget which, just by the Valero gas station)
If the gate is closed, wait till Tom or I open it. If the gate is open, park around the Quickie Mart parking area just inside the campgrounds entrance. We will wait until around 1 PM to allow all interested folks to arrive. We will then lead a tour of the expanded campgrounds. We may even show you the three maps showing the three phases of the campgrounds expansion (#3 will make alot of folks really excited) that covers the next 2-8 years.
Come prepared to take plenty of photos.

Has Facebook added a Search capability, like this Forum software has, so that information can easily be found?
hopefully someone will be kind enough to cross post from FB to here for the rest of us (o:
Debaldock,
I have not yet been able to find a search feature for searching content on a given page.
Perhaps someone who spends a lot more time on Facebook can provide an answer for us.
I believe it is as simple as control. The person incontrol of the FB page has the ability to delete posts and remove members they do not like. Here on the forums, a normal person would not has such control and would be open to more debates and opinions that could not be supressed.

Perhaps I could help. I worked for many years in tech support, and the answer to "answering the same question a hundred times" lies in creating a knowledge base - since that isn't an option here, an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document. This way, you only need to answer a question once or twice, since you can, instead of typing out long explanations of this or that, simply paste a link in response. This ability kept me sane through many years of tech support ;)

Are there any FAQ pages in this forum available to the individual categories? The admins would probably need to be involved; it would have to be a document that only certain people could modify.
Wakarimasen, are you aware of any version of FAQ that could be applied to Facebook pages? Without a usable search feature that would drill down through all replies to each message, there is no way for a newcomer to find information. Naturally Mike ends up with the same questions over and over as the pertinent messages fall off the bottom.
Unfortunately the main commercial website for TRF has a link to their Facebook page (which is "owned" by TRF as the "Page") resulting in the need to keep the Facebook page updated as much as possible.
