Title: Historic Costuming Communities
Post by: insidiousraven on August 07, 2012, 11:57:18 AM
I go to reddit.com a lot, and found this subreddit dedicated to historical costuming.  Thought some of you might be as interested in it as I am.  http://www.reddit.com/r/historicalcostuming (http://www.reddit.com/r/historicalcostuming)

Any other historically accurate communities you know of?

Do you want the loosely affiliated or the strictly focused ones?  There are a TON on LiveJournal and on Yahoo Groups.

I am a member of a Historical Costuming group on yahoo.

They tend to go in waves as to what time period is being discussed.

On LiveJournal:

Some of these are much more active than others.  There are a few that I see every day that pop up on my f-list and there are a few I haven't seen anything from in years.   However, if you are on LJ, take a look at these groups because sometimes, even in the archives, there might be good information.  This is just a list of ones I watch.  I'm sure there are a TON more.

Also, there are a lot of good blogs out there dedicated to Historical Costuming or to extant garments themselves.   I only have a 100 or so of those on my google reader.  ;-)
