Title: Patron's campgrounds flagpoles
Post by: mpullen on August 09, 2012, 05:56:29 PM
Well, my request for large clan/group locations was underwhelming, so here's my plan:

We will place the flagpoles every 100 150 feet down the center of the large central area, adjusting spacing to avoid the trees.

Clans/Groups/individual campers may hoist a flag/banner on the nearest flagpole, with the first in getting the top position. Thus every weekend, the display will change.

Recommend your flags/banners be around 3 ft wide by 4-6 ft long, with grommets to attach to the lanyard.

Thats actually a darned good idea Mike.  How many flags will be able to be flown from a pole?

Depends on size of flags/banners, but I'd guesstimate 6-8.

Markers have been placed for eight flagpoles, starting from the Chaos/Procrastination area down to the firecircle area, as that's where most of the clans/groups are located. We will put up more flag poles as we identify the need.

Flag poles will be down the center of the central area, about 150 ft apart.

Clans/Groups are invited to make flags/banners to hoist on flag poles closest to their camps.

The poles are 30 ft tall, 1-1/2" diameter metal, so you can't nail anything onto them. Flags/banners should be 3 ft tall (side to be attached to the lanyard) and no limit on length.

First group in gets top position on the pole. Following groups should lower the lanyard, attach theirs below the upper one, and rehoist. Attachment can be by stays (Navy folks know these) or shackles/eyehooks using the method here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaWx5mL-2Xs

Flags/banners are to be removed each weekend.
