I realize that I am posting from an outsiders viewpoint here and TRF has had enough difficulties That I did not wish to continue a certain thread. TRF is one of the most fortunate faires as just judging from this forum they have a very dedicated patron base. You are indeed family dedicated to each other and a way of life. No matter good or bad the management of TRF can not change the individual or a group only we can do that. If you are no longer happy at TRF find another fair but do not forget friends and family as they are what made your experiance at fair not management; and no I am not berating TRF management. I walked away from my Rennie roots once and lost cost contact with many valued friends due to a major disagreement with management and it was not really worth what I lost. Fair is not management, performaners, or vendors WE are the fair and yes some of us are performers and vendors and even management but We are rennies first. Experiment get 10 rennies together in garb go downtown to a city park and be your inner rennie and you will find the magic of faire. Sorry but from an outsiders viewpoint you guys were overlooking the Roses because of a bee.
Point well made and stated... ;)
You may or may not have directed this at me, but even if you didn't I am the poster child for the target audience of your post. Honestly, the half-baked insane hairless monkeys on this forum are pretty much the major reason we didn't sell off all of the tickets we had purchased. We gave some away, but kept the ones for the key weekends when these folks will be there. It should stand as a sharp warning to TRF that the community is more of a draw than their faire, but it also says a lot about that community that I am willing to set aside my idealistic anger and attend at least a couple of weekends for them. So, yes, I am very disappointed with the direction TRF is taking, but no, I have not let it blind me to the good friends and fairemily that we have out there :)
No this was in no way directed toward you while it was inspired by your thread. I simply wished to point out that in spite of the actions taken by TRF that you the patrons/rennies are the faire and are indeed very fortunate to have such a strong base. No attacks aimed at anyone just trying to point out the positive.
Thanks Rabbi...sometimes we need a reminder, myself included.
