Title: Barbarian Invasion Nov 10 & 11
Post by: DonaCatalina on October 25, 2012, 04:51:24 AM
Would it be wicked of me to wish for snow?

From my point of view, YES. I don't have enough fur yet.

Sn-ow? what is this weird word you form with your mouth that I cannot understand?

NC apparently sees more snow than Texas, which frightens me. I have seen plenty of mad rushes to the store to get bread and milk ( I grab pop tarts, apple cider mixes, and cereal :D ) so I can only imagine what horrors unfold down here when someone sees one flake of the white stuff.

I wouldn't be adverse to it, it did sleet/snow my first year down here.

Having lived in both, snow is MUCH more preferable to freezing rain. Trust me on this.

Considering how freaked out people get on the roads here in rain, I can't imagine the apocalypse that would occur with snow.

Snow in South Texas  :o :o :o

Scary, big time scary.

Not the snow, mind you, the drivers' reaction to it.  I mean really, wheelies in the HEB parking lot (which was NOT empty) because they do not understand the concept of SLOW ON SNOW?

It happened on a Friday.  I was so scared I drove 5 blocks home, parked and waiting for it to thaw (by Monday morning).

In Chicago I once rode a bus sliding sideways on an iced over expressway - not nearly as frightened as I was by the drivers on the streets of San Antonio about 28 years ago.

A white Christmas the last weekend would be nice too. Powdery dry snow with no giant wind. Hmmm, that could be most magical. Let's not waste it on those heathen Barbarians!

The cold weather can stick around. I thought about the bison fur but that vendor had to settle for some foxes sold to my wife.

Funny how people dream of snow, but then run for cover when the temps dip below 40 (o:

I despise snow and temps below 70 so thats where I stand.

This is pretty much why I live in Texas. If I wanted snow, I'd be northier.

Just remember... when you wish for snow, you get frozen performers that had to spend the night in a tent. I'll let them know who did it so that they can thank you properly LOLOLOL!

I had 15 years of Snow in VT. I don't want snow in TX- especially at faire. I love 70 and not humid!

Barbarian weekend will be our fifth year anniversary :D
Wish we had the cash to do a renewal of our vows ceremony, but the wee ones eat all of our extra money. Buncha little walking stomachs and poop factories...

Ah, Breandan, at their age your fun is just beginning.

I survived two & a stepdaughter myself. I only get occasional tremors.

We survived Barbarian Invasion. We saw very few people at the meet & greet and I even missed you at the Dancing Dog booth.
But it was a great weekend with perfect weather.
