Title: handicap access information
Post by: DonaCatalina on November 05, 2012, 05:16:01 AM
I can't find anything on the Faire's website.
My sister, who is coming with us closing, will probably need an electric chair to get around.
Does the faire rent these?
Or is there possibly some independent vendor who does?

The costume shop outside the entrance rents the electric scooters, but get there early to make sure you can get one.

As Fenster said, there is shop next to the costume shop that rents both electric scooters and manual wheelchairs.  They are first come first served and they do not take reservations, so be sure to get there early as the electric ones go fast.  They generally open about 8:40 or so.  The electric ones are a bit pricey but well worth the money if you REALLY need one.  I used to rent from them regularly until I got StudMuffin.  One warning however, if it looks like rain they do not like to rent the electric ones for obvious reasons.

Google Maps Aerial View of the TRF Front Gates area - http://goo.gl/maps/PggxY (http://goo.gl/maps/PggxY)

The first couple of Rows at the bottom on the right are Reserved for Handicapped Access.

The Scooter Rental building is shaded by the trees, in the center of the view.  It'll be on your left, as you face the Gates.

Take Care,

Thanks guys, we usually park near the costume shop; but I never had to look for scooters before.
