I just won this dress on ebay. It needs to be cleaned, and I'd rather wash than dry clean if possible (dry cleaning makes me queasy).
The posting said it's made of microsuede, which I'm guessing is polyester. The seller doesn't seem to check email very often, as she responded to my first question after the auction ended. ::)

Help?
Wow--that's really pretty! Great bargain, too!
I have a microsuede mundane top that I machine wash warm, tumble dry low/medium. Pull it out before it has a chance to wrinkle; it doesn't really like to be ironed (it won't wrinkle badly). I also have several microsuede dog beds that I wash all the time--but I have to admit, keeping the fabric nice on those really isn't a priority.
One little tip, though--you might want to save that dress for cooler days, as that much synthetic will be *very* warm in the heat.
It's beautiful, though!
Oh, I'm not wearing this one in the heat! ;) This is for an air-conditioned theatre! (and possibly MNRF at the end of september)
Thanks for the tips!
Don't forget to post pix!!
You should be able to machine wash the dress in cold water, but I would let it hang to dry.
