Title: Washing Well Wenches
Post by: KiltedPrivateer on March 11, 2013, 02:46:41 PM
I just wanted to tell the Faire how excited we were to see the Washing Well Wenches back in Texas.  I remember watching their show at TRF way back when.  We were disappointed when they didn't come back.

I am very happy that Sherwood picked up this great show.  I really hope the Wenches find a home here and that we get to see them again in the years to come.

A little bit of song, a little bit of dance, a little bit of adult humor but fun for all ages.

Their webstie --> http://www.washingwellwenches.com/ (http://www.washingwellwenches.com/)

And as I understand it, they have one of them new fangled face booking papers.  Don't know nuffin' bout that myself...

We first saw them at the Colorado RenFest and they're one of the few shows I don't mind seeing again. Glad they're here!

And even with the doubled seating, they still had plenty of people standing around the edges. What a great reception for them!

I noticed that TRF is not on their list???  Why is that?  It appears Sherwood has trumpted TRF!

   I've seen them twice-the last time was KCRF, so I'm not sure if it's the same WWW team.
   They have different acts for each pair of girls but I saw Petunia and Rose both times.
    Petunia was wearing tuna cans in her bodice and pounded on the them with a 'washing stick' (usually employed in hurling wet laundry at the audience) to direct attention to the tip hat she was waving.
    Funny as all git out.
    Like they say-'If your kids understand the humor... then shame on you!'

They haven't done TRF in many years.  After discussing this with one of the Wenches, we now know that it was because the Wenches didn't want to do TRF, but the other way around.  So, if you visit TRF this year, remember to stop by their Information booth, Just to the right as you enter the gate, grab a survey, fill it out, and ask why the Washing Well Wenches are no longer part of their line up.  Let them know that we miss them.
