I have just noticed that the dates of our festival, here in Colorado, are incorrect on the directory portion of this website.
It therefore occurs to me to mention it here, both in an effort to get them corrected, and to dispell any misunderstandings among those who frequent this Forum.
These are our dates this year, our 37th Anniversary
June 15-16, 22-23, 29-30 / July 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 / Aug 3-4 - 2013
Saturday & Sunday Only / 10:00 am - 6:30 pm / Rain or Shine / No Pets
This is about a week later than usual and I wouldnt be surprised if some folks were caught off guard.

Eeeep. Good to know ... but that means an extra week to prepare!
Please confirm which weekend will be Celtic weekend. We are trying to book flights and to make plans to be there for a special event.
So excited to be coming to CoRF for the first time.
I wish I could, and please recognize that the folks in charge don't usually consult with me on these things.
Officially our themed weekends are "TBD", at least according to the website.
In previous years, celtic weekend has often been the third weekend. If you can wait and its important to you, I'd stay tuned and check the website. Also, you might see an earlier declaration on the Facebook page.

As of yesterday, we appear to have a substantially updated website.
The update includes a calendar of themed weekends located here - http://coloradorenaissance.com/themed-weekends/ (http://coloradorenaissance.com/themed-weekends/)
It does appear that Celtic weekend will be the third - June 29 & 30.

The dates on the website are now correct. Nonetheless, I will be surprised if we don't have patrons show up at dress rehearsal on the 8th!
Your Grace,
They call that an Advanced Screening, I'm told.

Surrey, Myne Sonne,
I do heartily agree that there is likely to be some advanced screaming when patrons appear in Larkspurshire on the 8th day of June, only to learn that the festival hath, by royal command, been delayed by a week.
Oh, wait! You said "screening". Never mind.

Father, your Grace,
His Majesty hath said that if such patrons were to attend a week early, he would charge them, let them in, and put them to work. It seems a rightwise plan, though I might recommend we also charge them to leave, and the Howard Family be granted a portion, say 55%, as a finder's fee, as it were.

Mwhahaha

I was thinking more in terms of the privy's, which haven't been touched in ten months.
Maybe the smell of "the Dog" is finally gone ???
:o There is that
They CAN'T show up early! We're testing the boiling oil system that week! Er... Why am I holding this target and why are the rest of you drawing away?
:o
My dear Professor,
You have hit upon the true reason of the change in dates... adequate testing of that system. If it flows to viscously, it will only glob on to the subjects directly underneath. If if flows to fluidly, it will wash out and down the stone cobbles too quickly, not causing the subjects to slip and do prat-falls adequately. It must be tested with live, at least at the start, subjects. It also does help if all the subjects are French, since it means we waste none of the oil in their hair or underarms, being full there already.

Sounds like the Lord Mayor has been using funds meant for the system and using them for other things mayhaps? Mayhaps the king should take his head this year and place some other more fitting person who's not as likely to mis-appropriate funds meant for the kingdom?

Lady DeLaney, methinks thou doth have the sow by the right ear! I shall convey thine counsel to His Majesty, The Kinge, and, unless I myss myne mark, thou shall't see a new Mayor of Larkspurshire this season.

I hath heard such talk, As a courtesan, you hear things that others may not. I also heard talk of a new Sheriff? Could thee be so kind as to confirm or deny these things?

Ah, M'Lady! Forsooth, a courtesan hears many things, some true, some not.

My dear Earl, was't you who walked behind the French contingency in the parade oftimes last summer? I get all my nobles mixed up, they all look about the same....in any case, I'll be sure to let his Lordship Le Duc du Gascogne know he ought not bathe the night before the parade, as an especial treat just for you....

Friends do not call friends "politicians"!
Lady Zoe,
Whilst I do appreciate the gesture, there is no need to request the French not to bathe, it comes quite naturally.
