This bar's modeled after one of my favorite Taverns at Britsol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin called the Pig 'n' Whistle Tavern, and made from an old TV cabinet.
I moved to Arkansas in 2005 and out of Ren-Withdraw and the TV dieing the bar was born.

The bar has a shelf inside the cabinet that slides back for easy access of the lower cabinet.

Well done! I really like the reusing/reimagining of old stuff like that. It's much better having an old TV turned into a bar rather than tossed into a landfill!
Yes it does help the landfills. It's also a heck of alot cheaper than buying the raw material to make a bar.
Actually there are three other different items in the bar that would have ended up in landfils besides the tv cabinet.
The lighter colored wood is from an old computor desk. The areas covering where the speakers were (the four areas with designs on either side of the cabinet doors) are actually the cardboard BACKING from the desk covering the speaker holes. The Cabinet doors are from the SIDES of that desk.
The shelving on the top back of the bar at one time had a mirror in it and was used to show off small steins on a wall. I had a piece of 1/8th plywood left over from another project that fit into the old mirror inset from behind.
The mirror in the shelving area NOW had a damaged frame. I took these Mirror brackets that hold mrrors onto a wall without a frame and attached the mirror to the plywood.
The Harp tap handle was damaged (a brass piece between the Tap spout and handle was damaged) and was going to get tossed, so a friend gave it to me. The tap Spout still works too. My Friend's bar was switching to a newer tap system and gave me the old tap spout.
All I need to do is figure out how to run a small kegerator or pony keg from inside the bar cabinet to the Tap and I have a working Tap!
There are a couple things I'd like to do for both the bar and the living room. First I've started on a Toothpick/Swizzle stick holder that will look like that SMALLER dormer on the Pig n Whistle.
Secondly I'd like to make some kind of entertainment center that at least has the LOOK or setup of the Pig n Whistle's stage. If you look to the left of MY bar you'll see my radio and tv set up basically the same way as the stage. lol
I just set whatever I don't want out to the curb. Someone ALWAYS takes it! Nice job BTW.
Thanks. That's exactly what I was going to do with the tv. I live on the 2nd floor of apartments and I couldn't find anyone to help take it down to the dumpster it is too heavy for one person on stairs.
I was in the middle of gutting the tv to make it lighter when I stood back and looked at the empty tv cabinet when I had the idea to make a bar out of it.

I need to find some reusable Swizzle sticks, but, for display purposes I'm using Craft sticks.

Ok I've been wanting make this for awhile, and I kind of scimped on the detail by leaving out the details of each signpost top, but, this is just a picture frame for a picture of the Pig's sign in front of the actual Tavern.
I also brightened the colors of the picture in the frame too, since the actual sign has faded over the years.
