Title: Notes from this weekends Patrons Campgrounds Open House
Post by: mpullen on October 05, 2013, 08:42:41 PM

If you weren't out today for the Patron's campgrounds open house, here's some highlights:

The showers are $5 for as long as you desire to clean off.
Co-showering to be on a case-by-case basis. In any event, guys to one side, girls to the other. Each shower has an individual key lock. Key to be provided upon payment.

Not only is there the new premium camping area, the south-west area has been cleared adding the highest ground.

There is a burn ban, but here's the rules: Fires must be fully contained (metal bottom, metal sides). A fine mesh cover would be appreciated.

The local fire department will be stationed near the bonfire after the fireworks. The bonfire will not be started until they are onsite and give their approval. The bonfire will be extinguished around 2-3 AM.

For campers setting up near the dense woods around the perimeter, do not setup anything (tents, vehicles, etc.) within 30 feet of the woods. Signs will be posted.

The police call phone number has been changed since last year. The new number will posted on signs throughout the campgrounds.

If you want a flagpole setup in/near your area, let me know opening weekend. Today, the Village of Glengarry denoted where they desire one placed. We have three more flagpoles to be placed. Refresher on the flagpoles: the first clan/group in the area gets to hoist their flag to the top, the subsequent groups place their flags below the first one. No flag stealing allowed. If your clan/group doesn't have a flag, the Quickie Mart sells generic flags. Note that flagpoles will not be placed close to any road, as they are too much a target for weaving vehicles.

If you have an RV/Travel Trailer and want to unload your tanks, please contact the Port-a-Potty contractor (contact info on the port-a-potties). This service will not be provided by TRF, so you must individually contract. Past experience shows about a $20-30 charge. Please do not dump your gray or black water tanks on the campgrounds.

Did I miss something?? Let me know.

Otherwise, see you at the lane party Thursday evening.

What are the hours...for the showers?  Would be nice to take advantage of the convenience earlier in the morning in order to avoid the rush...

The website states:  "The showers will remain open as long as there is need but WILL close for the night. 10pm is planned closing time."  A little vague, but definitely no listing for the opening time.

From my understanding they are closing at 10 p.m., it is up to the vendor who at the cash desk. That is how I understood it as it was explained to me at the open house.

Yep, that is what they told us at the onset of the tour, open until 10.  IF there is a huge demand beyond that hour they may extend the time but it will be on a as needed basis until the timing is worked out, etc.

So what time do they open?  :)

And I didn't see this on the video, but are there AC outlets in the shower areas?  For hair dryers, etc...

I can imagine a lot of the folks I know not even being able to get away from camp until after midnight, just because there is always so much to get done right after closing cannon!  Supper to get started, people to greet, late-comers to get situated, Loki to be tasted... you know, the usual.  ;)

The things you miss when you miss the Open the house.  Bats asks a very good question though.  For those who choose morning showers, what time will the attendant open up?

I can't recall with certainty but I think they open at 6.

I don't think you will find any outlets.  I didn't see an area set up for that sort of thing.  Just shower stalls with a dry area that has a bench in each stall.

Yeah... I don't think it included electric in the price... at least, not for hair drying.  I'm thinking the morning lines might be pretty long.
