Title: Garb help for char creation
Post by: BGB303 on January 14, 2014, 07:13:32 PM
Need some help finding some garb. I have most items for my char all ready, but i am trying to blend a ranger with a bit of elven and was wondering if anyone knew a good place to find elven tabards, tunics and leather armor? I have been on Etsy a lot but cant quite find what I am looking for.  Planning on going with some nice leather spaulders and tasset once I find the right tunic. https://www.etsy.com/listing/153810348/brown-spaulders-pair-with-3-different (https://www.etsy.com/listing/153810348/brown-spaulders-pair-with-3-different) / https://www.etsy.com/listing/169986305/leather-leaf-tasset-upper-leg-armor (https://www.etsy.com/listing/169986305/leather-leaf-tasset-upper-leg-armor)

Looking for something longer like a tabard like this, but with a little more of an elven twist. I'd post some pics but I cant figure out how to upload on the forums layout.

First, make sure your faire is okay with playtrons play fantasy characters.  I know many are okay with decent garb but draw the line at playing a character.   I have met several people that have been kicked out of faires for having an "act" - even though they weren't asking for money or doing anything other than playing the part of their character.

Since you are going Lord of the Rings - ish, use LoTR for a keyword in your searches.  You will not find exactly what you are looking for unless you make it yourself or pay someone $$$ to make it for you.

As for uploading - you don't on forums.   You upload the photo to a hosting service - I love ipernity but I know many others use things like snapfish.   Once it's uploaded, copy the location of the jpg or gif, and then click on this button (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif).  Second row, first button.  Up will pop up the bbcode for images.  Just put the image location between the two tags.

He hand makes elven armor to size-If I remember (It's been about 9 years since I last chatted with shadow wolf and his wife) It is molded PVC, not metal, so it's not made for actual combat play.
They specialize in cosplay for the serious fan.
