OK same outfit withthe grommet issue.
It is two piece. The bodice is short and the skirt slits low. Actually if I pull it up, it's right in length but this is an issue. The skirt and doublet want to gap bad in the back no matter how tight I tie the skirt. Toki suggested safety pinning the skirt to my bodice and corset and I said NO way. I don't feel like having a safety pin pop and stab me, or have it fall down for a wardward malfunction.
I suggested two solutions. The first would be to get large hock and eye's and place them in proper locations to keep the two attacked. I'm not totally found of that idea. The other wold be to get some round plastic or metal pieces and swe them either to the bodice or the skirt. And then tie thick ribbon opposite the two to keep the piece together. I know this is what was done on somae renaissance garb.
Any suggestions or feedback on those three ideas. I'm pretty much said No to saftey pins and not working right (Always Toki's answer... saftey pin it.
This is a dress I have never wrn before that was made about three years ago. I thought I would give my red dress a weekend break and wear a different one and this one is the prettiest and I could wear my new tall hat with t and not clash (Dress is black and copper my tall hat is tan with black feathers and green scarf. I have a picture of the dress, but I look horrid in it as I put it on one evening for Toki and was tired.

You could mayhaps sew ribbons into both pieces to tie together - the garb shop I worked in used ribbons to fluff up some of the skirts that way. Grosgrain can generally hold up well - althoug hit might depend on the weight of the skirt.
