Title: Smocking help needed
Post by: Lady Celynn on July 24, 2008, 08:16:05 PM
I've seen some wonderful smocking that looks like latice work.  Does anyone have the info on how to make it?  I thought it would look wonderful for a bodice and top of a sleeve.  TIA

This thread has a lot of smocking links:

Some of them cover historical smocking, plus how-tos, etc.

They used it in a sleeve in Shakespeare in Love

I rather like the pearl additions.  It's meant to mimic strapwork, which is very H/A, but the smocking is not.  Still, it's pretty.
