On Saturday, May 3rd, we will have a One Day Sale for TRF Tickets. $9 Adult and $4 kids tickets. Tickets are good for any day.
This will be a 24hr sale and after that tickets will be full price. We are doing this to reward our Patrons and Friends of Faire.

Best sale I have EVER heard of! Thanks, Terre.
WOOHOO!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
Yes... definitely an EXCELLENT sale! I'll be buying our tickets then... and saving all my pennies to try and make it down there this fall!
This is marketing genius. Seriously, the playtrons here are the ones who often have the highest attendance, spend the most money there in aggregate, and also the most likely to catch this announcement. That's loyalty-building among the customer base in a nutshell ;D
*grabs credit card and waits patiently*
I'm down with it...
*pulls up chair next to Breandan*
i marked the calander.
We previously decided that we were not going to to TRF this year. We always spend so much money each weekend, and we want to try Sherwood next year, and LARF is our home faire... we go many times... so we made a decision to skip TRF. Now I have an alarm set on my phone so I don't miss Saturday's sale, and instead of our little group of three, we're bringing 10!
We are advertising this online to our best friends and family. You guys are what make TRF a magical place. Thanks for 40 years!
The 40th... man, AHE ought to be interesting :o ;D
Terre,
Is there a special link or anything we will need to access this sale or just the regular ticket sale page on the TRF site?
Just an FYI, the server can't handle more than 500 people at a time and is crashing like crazy right now as a result >.<
Yrose- I'd link it to you, but the ENTIRE purchase site is crashed >.< Here's the intro page- https://texrenfesttickets.entausa.com/WebPages/EntaWebpublic/PURCHASEOPTIONS.ASPX and from there it's the Deal of the Century banner
BOOOYAH! Tickets in my greedy lil hands! 8) :)

That's because all of you Children of the Night Rennies were watching the clock... us Daywalkers didn't have any problem. ;D ;)
Tickets in grubby hands.
Terre - Appreciate the ticket sale, and like a few others, it made a difference on attending this year. Thanks!
Well... because of the "convenience fee" I have had to pass on this sale, since we are going to our local Faire today, and I can't afford to pay for 5 tickets right now, just to actually get 4 tickets. We may not be making it down there this year, after all.
Woot! We got our tickets!!
Yes but now us late risers are facing a net overload --- Its super slow right now.
I wonder how many tickets were sold in the Super Sale?
I'm willing to bet that they did good (o:
Breandan was saying they could handle 500 at a time... I sailed right through. Guess i got lucky.
I was up early on Saturday morning so I went ahead signed in on the web site and got my tickets. I had no issues at all. I figured I beat the crowd that was sleeping in.
Rani. I agree the convenience fee doesn't make me smile. I could handle a modest per transaction fee, but per ticket is a bit much. I bought a lot of tickets, but could have bought more if they were $9 instead of $11. That would mean more times my wallet would joined me inside the gates of TRF. The convenience is not having to pay someone answer the phone to take orders, not having to pay to print out and mail the tickets out.
I bought tickets for some friends and myself. I could have bought 4 more tickets just with the fees. Still a great deal, just the fee is a TRF convenience fee, not a customer convenience fee.
AS I said, still a great price.
Let me start by saying the sale was a success. The fee is charged to us to design and manage the online site. To make it safe, design and manage a site of our size takes people and resources. The site crashed in the morning because over 5,000 people were on the site at one time, wow! I believe many people are going to be able to come an extra weekend because of the sale and we can't wait to see everyone. Huzzah to the KING!
I was a little surprised to discover that the convenience fee had gone up since last year, but even with the $2 fee, tix were cheaper than they were in last summer's deal, so I'm not too upset. :) I just hope we're able to use all of our tickets this year, and not have left overs due to weather like we did last year.
Considering last year we spent $350+ on tickets and this year we only spent $250+, even with the fee , our group was happy. When you can get a weekend of tickets for less than a one day at the gate ticket few have to complain.
Terre- awesome sale, and the crashes look like- judging from the SQL errors I got- it was nothing more than the IT guy forgetting to un-bottleneck the server bandwidth. For next time, from a PR standpoint you might want to work the convenience fee into the overall price to hide it, because the name just kinda slaps some people. That's a VERY common thing to do with fees and such that get passed on to the consumer, so it's perfectly ethical and might help smooth some ruffled feathers. that said, I think I speak for all concerned when I give you the big thumbs-up on this one :D

LOL it wouldn't have mattered. The site crashed at 2:30am due to server overload.

I second Breandan on this... good job, Terre... i usually wince when it comes time to get tickets... ;D
We had a few unforeseen issues but I think it is all working out. Today we changed the Convenience fee to Processing Fee because that's what it is. Thanks everyone and see you in October!
