Title: Masquerade Ball vs Quiet Camping Area
Post by: Enjoyer Of Things on August 07, 2014, 06:40:49 PM
Hi!

Is it true the ball will be located in the quiet camp area? Looks like it is from Google Maps. This is the second year my daughter (age 4) and I will camp. Quiet camping is probably best for us for the next decade (new grey hairs appeared just thinking about that). Looks like there is still plenty of area available for quiet camping. Although, it is very tempting to camp just south of the ball. The end of night spectacle would be... interesting... I'm sure!

I'm also new to the forums so just wanted to say hi!

Yes it is but it close to the front Gate. There is still a lot of area  that will not be effected by the ball noise or traffic.

It won't be louder than the bonfire because it is enclosed.  Based on the number of people that camp in Quite Camping there is still plenty of room for peace.

My daughter will sleep through anything really. She didn't even twitch when the iron horn beast visited several times last year. I know this because I forgot my ear plugs.  ;) Since it will just be her and I, I figure it's best not to tempt myself with nearby parties while she sleeps. I am hoping we meet some other families eventually so we can both enjoy the faire after hours.

Looking forward to TRF this year!

So are you using a special acoustic plastic sheeting to hold the sound in? I'm guessing the sound system has been limited to prevent too much bleed out, and the DJ has been given proper instruction...
