Post by: prothos on September 16, 2014, 07:09:05 AM
Does nayone on here currently work at TRF and camp in the workers camp ground.
I got a job at Brigadoon Brewery this season and wife at swan lace and paln on putting my travel trailer in the workes camp ground.

1) How do you get from the particpant camping to patron camping easily to visit family and friends.
2) how do you go about getting your blak and gray tanks emptied and cost?
3 How do you get fresh water to yuor camper when you run low.

I will be in generator camp area.

Prothos, since I don't camp in Participant's, I can only answer one of your questions:

Participants are generally forbidden from visiting the Patron's campgrounds. The final say goes to whom you are working for. In any case, you cannot wear any garb that identifies you as a Participant.

That said, you can walk from the Participant's campgrounds to the Patron's campgrounds to visit. If you want to drive, you will have to purchase a campgrounds pass ($20) and have a Faire ticket.

I believe there are water stations in the Participants campgrounds, but not sure of the dump station (one is available in the Patron's campgrounds at a $20 charge).

Rolls 1, 2 (3  closed for parking) and the lowwer section of roll 4 is for generator camping.
Its firs come first server but people get out early and stake out spots. That is allowed in the employee camping.  There is a camp Warden assigned to each secion to over see the rules are followed.

The next set of rolls have full hook ups and cost like $350 but there is a waiting list to get in there.

Then next set is tent camping or quite camping.

No fire allowed in the campgroung even charcoal grills.
At the end of each roll is a water hook up. unless you are staying in the full hook up section you cant leave your hose connected unless you want to put like a 4 way splitter on the water.

There is a contact to have the tanks emptied on your trailer. they come to your site once every other week and it cost $30 each pump. They come out normally on fridays and you dont have to be there just pay in advance,

There is a Bathroom and shower building but it wasnt very clean when i was out there this past sunday. Im hoping it will be cleaner once fair opens.

Your not really allowed to leave your camp ground to go to the general camp groung to visit but i was told there is ways of doing it.

To get the travel trailer in you need to enter through the maintance gate that is by The main Ren fair office. You can get into to the participants area when the gate is open through the employee entrance but you will need the parking permit and your ren id.

Im sure i missed a few things. Oh i was told the pirates normally park on row 1.

The bathrooms by the EB are pretty much like that and only get worse as the season goes on. I HIGHLY recommend shower shoes. Also if you even have a chance in hell at anything other than ice cold water your taking a shower in the middle of the night like anywhere from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.

not to worried about showers. we have a shower in the travel trailer. Was more looking to use the the bathroom for #2 to keep the trailer smelling cleaner.
