Title: Santa Fe Renaissance Festival
Post by: Zoë on July 30, 2008, 10:31:05 PM
Sorry if this has already been posted, I didn't see it so I figured I'd go ahead...

Anyhoo, has anyone heard about this brand new faire in Santa Fe?  It's only open one weekend in September and it has a more Hispanic/Spanish flair to it than a traditional Elizabethan/European faire.  I'm looking into going down for the weekend to volunteer, but even if I don't do that I'll probably be going down just to visit as it's only about a 6-hour drive from where I live.  It seems like it would be a different experience and a fun time.

Anyone else thinking of going?

There is more new info on the site for the Santa Fe ren faire, which is happening in just under 2 weeks.  I will be there on street cast.  I know there are a few folks from CO who are thinking about going.  I think it's going to be a good time!

If you happen to stumble upon this ... how was it?  Was there a good turn out for this event?

It was fantastic!  We had a surprising turn out, almost 4,000 people, they were expecting half that.  I had a grand time, it was a bit of a smaller venue than the big faires we're all used to, but there was a lot of stuff going on and it was different and exciting.  Lots to do.  They're definitely on for this year because of how good their turnout was and I will definitely be back myself.
