Title: Need advice on how to store a pipe on my person.
Post by: gammastar7 on June 26, 2016, 03:10:16 AM
Hello! I need advice on a costume accessory. I have a 16" Curved Stem Tobacco Pipe and I need ideas on how to attach it to my person, so I don't have to carry it in hand all day. I won't be smoking it, so there's no need to worry about it being too hot or ashy. I was thinking of putting it in a belt pouch, but it'd stick out and the stem could snap. That will be my last resort. I'm hoping someone might have better ideas? Thank you!

Here's the pipe.

A hard leather belt pouch would prevent it from breaking.  Something along this line (http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O133556/pen-case-and-unknown/).

Maybe something along the lines of a shoulder holster so it could be tucked out of the way under your arm?

Carry a sword? Maybe add some loops or a tube of leather to the scabbard as a pipe holster?

Won't fit behind your ear like the guys used to store cigs?  No?

If you're wearing a hat with any kind of brim or binding, you could work a hat band so that you could slip the pipe in it to secure it.  Safe and still making a statement.
