Title: Hat Help
Post by: HannahLeeDee on August 25, 2008, 10:45:21 PM
My mom wears a caviler hat from the Tall Toad and she loves the hat and looks amazing in it, but at the end of the day her head just aches and the hat stretches out durring the day and falls down. Is there any way we can add a little more cushion to the sides of the hat to make it more comfortable and stay on a little better? Thanks

Roll up tissue paper and put it under the band on both sides.
They used to make hats in "long oval" sizes for those of us who's heads aren't round (Sorry, Oliver)

I use fleece edging, buy it at any fabric store, and place it inside the hat, along the hat band, it will absorb any sweat, and will be nice and soft on the melon...

You could also hand stitch a strip of cotton flannel around the inside. This would act as a cushion and a sweat band.

Thanks for all of the tips. I'm going to take a closer look at the hat and decide which method is the best.

Thanks again!

My sister bought a hat from Tall Toad andf she had some fitting issues with it and everytime she went back to Tall Toad and they kept adding filler till it was a good fit on her. I thought they were very nice to work with.
