This is my home faire... if anyone is coming to this let me know. It will be warm... but the area is close to the beach so you can go cool off! :)

This is the weekend that we rented a house in Morro Bay for vacation. That Saturday is the day before we leave to go home.

How cool is that? :D

I have noticed most faire's it is weapons like swords and such are okay, but they must be sheathed and peace-tied. Generally, firearms are a no-no. I'm not 100% sure for this faire, though.

I've been to SLO fiare many times and you are correct peace-tied blades.

What CA faires don't allow weapons?

There are a few guilds in the area actually.  The Peasant Guild is the one that puts on, and works, the SLO faire itself (http://www.thepeasantguild.com/).  I'm in Hounds Haven, which is a tavern scene (http://hounds.punk.net/).   There are also a few Scottish guilds in the area, though I can't recall the names of the top of my head. When you walk around faire you'll see many encampments; you can simply approach one and talk to them to figure out if you are interested in joining.

I'll be there on Saturday. I'm excited, my first faire in good garb. Blue skirt, yellow overskirt, blue and gold sari silk bodice, and a chemise-type blouse.

The only other faire I have been to is the NorCal Pirate Fest. My top didn't fit right. The stuff I made for this fits really well.

Very cool!  Are you coming with anyone else?  If you are interested in becoming more involved in faire, stop by a guild and inquire about joining.  Have a good time!

My mom is coming too, my dad might be coming, I'm not sure. They won't be in garb, though. They are boring.

We're just here for the week, we rented a house.

Contrary to last year (set up just before the lancing arena), we were placed near the entrance to the faire.  Apparently the organizers forgot we had a trebuchet, so no room to fire this year.  Oh well.  There was nice weather and good patronage.

Ah well met Wildabeast, we we're right next ot you (Hounds Haven) and you did draw a good crowd with your device.  I actually had a conversation with a few guild members about how poorly they placed you guys; we wanted a demo, perhaps with water balloons.  :)

DOH!  So close, yet not close enough.  We enjoyed being next to you guys and those on the other "border".  Hopefully next year, we'll be back to swinging our arm.

I just posted 156 pictures from last weekend and placed the link here (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?board=6.0).
...and Valiss, there's probably one very young squire you'll recognize in some of them.

While you're at it, you can see the 233 I posted yesterday from the Sonora Celtic Faire (formerly in Angels Camp) back in March.

Oh, great pictures! My parents had the camera, and only took pictures of the joust. >.< And it wasn't even the digital. "Oh, we don't need to bring the digital."
