Title: Looking for a shirt.
Post by: Corinne Bagley on September 03, 2008, 04:31:21 PM
I was looking around Photograph on the Runs Pbase site and fell in love with a shirt in one of the pictures, the problem is I have no clue where to get it.

This is the picture, if anyone knows where to get this shirt, or it's pattern please tell me, it would be greatly appreciated.

That actually looks exactly like a shirt that *I* own.  I bought it a hundred years ago at Minnesota (ok, maybe not 100, but probably 20).  It's a basic muslin shirt, with pleated ruffles at the wrists and collar.  You see similar collars (http://www.festiveattyre.com/research/wkclass/images/work14.jpg) in period Italian artwork, and I think there's a how-to at Kat's Purple Files (http://katerina.purplefiles.net/garb/diaries/Partlet%20Maria%20d%20Medici.htm).

Almost any shirt pattern should be modifiable to get the look you want.  McCall's 4862 (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M4862.htm??tab=list/costumes&page=all) has the ruffled collar, but a yoke (which your photo doesn't have).  M5446 (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5446.htm??tab=list/costumes&page=all) has no yoke, but you'd have to figure out the ruffles.

I can't see your pic for some reason but judging from Gem's response, check out www.renshirts.com.

Here's another option (this one has a yoke):

I have no clue why it stopped working, it was working yesterday! I've posted the link now, instead of the image.

Thank you very much for your help both of you!

I guess I'll have to see if I can find something close enough to be able to modify it.

Edit: Hmmm... That one is closer, but I would prefer it without the yoke.
