Hey, anyone know of a dog friendly (and fairly cheap) restaurant in the NW Houston area (around 1960)?

The only one off the top of my head is Barnabys, there's a few in the Houston area, but I'm not sure if it's in the area you're lookin at
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that outside of handicap assistance dogs or other specialty dogs of the same type, no restaurant would allow an animal of any kind onto its premises as it would violate every health code in existance.
Actually, Blakduke, there are a lot of restaurants now allowing dogs on the premises, usually on the patio.
There are several restaurants I've found in the downtown area but we are trying to find one up in the NW houston area. We are finally getting a pug and we need to meet the wonderful couple who are giving him to us. I just found a Panera Bread in the area, but I'm willing to hear more suggestions if anyone has any!

I do believe there are one or two up at 290 spring cypress.
I live right at jones and west, and I know the panera on 290 there at 1960 will and I want to say there was a place on 1960 before jones that I saw a dog or two at once. Little italian bistro kinda joint.
I'm quite sure there are some, but you are more inclined to find them in the downtown and surrounding areas rather than the suburbs and such. ((My personal opinion though is that dogs have NO PLACE in a resturant in the first place, but hey, that could just be me)).

Actually after raising 1 each of hers and mine and then throwing them out of the house whilst they still knew everything there is to know, when the urge hit to fill the empty nest we opted to get a fur bearing 4 footed love child. That to had it's wrinkles. she now let's us live in the house only because she does not have an opposing thumb therefore cannot operate the can opener, nor write the checks for the mortgage, and grocery bill that has her dog food in it. We are so greatfull at having a loving pet that thinks of us that kindly to provide for us in our "golden years".
Don't know about Houston, but Austin has a boat load of 'em. Patio style eateries. They even bring your doggie water.
Having raised four children of the two-legged type, and several more of the four-legged types, I can tell you that I would rather see a well behaved dog in a restaurant, than some hacking, coughing, sneezing child. I have caught numerous illnesses from my two-legged children over the years, but the worst I have ever got from the furry ones has been the occasional flea.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to share a restaurant with a dog that's going table to table mooching food. The dog must be well behaved, and under control, otherwise, they need to be escorted out. Of course, I also think children in restaurants should be well behaved and under control.
The last time I took a pug puppy into a restaurant, I had both patrons and staff stop by the table and comment on how cute she was and ask what breed she was, how old, what's her name, etc. The owner even came out and brought her a chicken strip. If the owner had instead came out and nicely asked us to leave, I would have done so with no hard feelings.

The only thing I don't like about dogs being in resteraunts... their dander can't be controlled, and I'm mildly allergic to dogs. I love them.. I own one, but she is short hair and we go to great lengths to keep me breathing despite her presence.
So I'm not so much about a dog in an indoor resteraunt just for my own personal comfort level and well being. I put dog on the same list as smoking in a resteraunt... it's cool if it's in the smoking section because I won't be there and having to deal with said health,and smell issueswhile I'm enjoying my meal. So with a dog section (i consider this the patio) if I eat out on the patio I understand I'm in their area and I'm cool with that... but I dont think they should be regular resteraunt floor dogs... and we all know full well that those waiters and waitresses and people that touch the puppies etc usually don't think to go wash their hands before they handle our food...
None of it is the dogs fault, but it's still an issue.
Regardless, thats way off topic, but I'm sure there are several dog places in and around northwest Houston. I see them all over all the time and my friend John has been looking for them. He has a pom pom named cerberus.
