Depends if there is flood damage inside or not, and how high up. If so it might have to come down anyway.

Well, it was built to withstand a Cat 5 hurricane, so even if it flooded, it's still fundamentally a strong structure. Might require some minor interior repairs and shoring up of the foundation, but the basic skeleton is essentially intact. I doubt it'll have to come down.

It sounds as if the decidiond to fix up the home may have more to do with decisions by the authorities for that town than anything else. But it would be creepy to live there, knowing so much as just flattened.
