Hey I need a second song for my music department audition for my College.
I'm a mezzo soprano with very solid alto notes, I get weak (as in, have very little sound) at F above third line C.
THe directions say to have 2 songs prepared that show yourself off, and that contrast each other (they give examples if your first peice is slow do a fast peice next, if you do an italian song first pick a broadway song next, if you do a slow sad song try a happy upbeat song net... and so forth)
My first song, is "The Lass from the Low Countree"

*that's not me, but it shows you waht the song is like, I may post one of me singing it, but it won't have any accompaniment...*
My voice isn't quite as "happy" when I sing it... My voice is a bit less innocent i guess is a way to describe it... I'll post a clip of me singing. definitely...
What's your favorite musical, and what female lead piece can you sing backwards and forwards? Camelot? Brigadoon? South Pacific - Miss Saigon? Maybe go for one of those. Something your voice gets happy singing. For me, Fantine's, or Eponine's pieces from Les Miz...

I don't actually have a peice from a musical that I can sing backwards and forwards, most of the songs I can do that for are choral arrangements and not the melody lines! lol.
I know most of the words to a few of the songs from Wicked right now, but most of the ones that I would do are probably more difficult than I would feel comfortable with... *cough.. Defying Gravity*
Some pop tune you usually sing along with on the radio? Celtic Woman? Josh Groban? Andre Bochelli? Anything along those lines?
Think about those. Look through your CDs, bound to be something there.
