Title: Fake hair for men?
Post by: gem on September 24, 2008, 03:58:00 PM
Milord and I had a great idea for his Hallowe'en costume--but he'll need a ponytail.  Is there an easy/possible way for us to attach a false ponytail to his short hair?  For reference, here's a picture of him (http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL417/1033223/8281948/180070273.jpg).

He'll also need to slick back the rest of his hair to look like it's all combed back into the ponytail.  His hair is very fine and straight, and he never uses product on it--anyone have recommendations for something to try (gel, sculpting cream, Elmer's glue ;), etc)?

Gramercy!!

Maybe a clear thin headband, attach the fake hair to it and pull it into a pony tail.. The headband could help keep his hair slicked back as well..

or I'm pretty sure they sell wigs that are like that at most Halloween costume shops, if that would be an option for you..

To slick it back, wet his hair, put in some extra, extra strong hold gel, and comb it back or use his hands to slick it back.  Then don't touch it!!

not glue, that would look yucky, I kind of like the garnier fructise, but it's very strong appley smelling and like my bff sneezes anytime i use it near her, it gives a nice wetlook tho

If you REALLY want the hair to stay slicked back, use jell-o.  It's what syncronized swimmers use to keep their hair perfect while there swimming, so I'm sure it'll hold his hair back. :)

Will combs stay in his hair?  You may be able to get a fake ponytail that attaches with a comb and use that.  Maybe pull some of the hair where it's going to attach into a bunch of very small ponytails to help anchor it?
