Title: Better off here???
Post by: Blue66669 on September 29, 2008, 10:59:11 AM
HALP! I posted this in the sewing threads, and didn't get too much back...

I need ideas on a new noble gown, preferrably a doublet gown. I know everything that I need (underpinnings and such). I just need some ideas for gowns, OH, and HATS!!! Please, take pity on this simple warrior Empress and show her the way to being a true lady!

Err...  If you posted at the end of the week, lots of folk are off at faire or madly getting ready to go!

Do you want to sew it or buy it?

Whichever one is more cost effective. I'm not really *too* handy with a sewing machine, but I'll give it a go if it proves to be cheaper.

LOTS cheaper!  And possibly much quicker than waiting to get something made...

How about these for ideas:

I personally like the simplicty pattern a lot.  It just looks "nice".  For headwear, an embroidered coif will work or a french hood.  You can also go with a simple snood if you like.
