Planned all year for this thing as usual since '05.
4 weeks ago, moved from San Antonio to Austin... may not be able to go to faire
3 weeks ago, Princess Amanda wrecked her chariot (total loss)... probably will not be able to go
2 weeks ago, Princess Amanda broke her leg (bad... required surgery)... definitely won't be able to go
1 week ago, decided to go to faire.
2 days ago, childcare fell through... can't go to faire
20 minutes ago... just got back from driving child to my mother's five hours away. We are going to faire if it kills us (and it likely will).
Andi and the SA meetup group: we'll look for you out there. We met you just the one time, in Aug I believe. We would have posted sooner but we've been a little busy as you see.
By the way, we read the sh-- about the fire pit which echoes our experiences in recent years. We hope to find good parties at the campsites. '07 was a little subdued. Hope its better this year.

WOW, now that's loyalty!!! I hope nothing else bars you from getting to faire!! Have a good time! Sorry I won't get to meet you this weekend we won't be back to faire til next weekend. But I wish you the best of luck going forward!
Pure and total devotion! And remember they do have wheelchairs for rent at the front for Princess Amanda :-)
Plus sides to wheelchair-
you don't have to get up even when they tell the rest of the crowd "On your feet!"
you can always make the front of the line as well as anyone with you, especially for rides
you can always have wheelchair races!
Well I am glad that everything worked out for you to be able to come to fair. However had and difficult it might have been.
I am so terribly sorry that you have had all those things go wrong though, I hope the fair is a good remedy for your stress and mundane life. it always helps me! :)
Hope to see you out there. ;D

Wheelchair Races? Did I hear wheelchair races? StudMuffin and I are always up for a race.
I ain't touchin' no wheelchair.
Back in 2001, my first year on cast (as a barbarian), Kiva Fyrewulf and I were accused of - get this - kidnapping a drunk man and his wheelchair, then ditching said drunk man and taking the wheelchair joyriding.
Not a word of truth in it, of course, but it's really not something you want to have to explain to the boss.

That's one for Skippy's list, right there...! :D
Talk about not letting anything get in the way. Hope everything is going better.
I'm truly sorry to hear of all you troubles and hope that nothing else goes wrong for you two! But, blimey, what a story! I had a smile on my face reading it because I admire your determination. I think it's a good way to sum up how dedicated we all are to our love of faire! Huzzah Justin and Amanda!
My first year going to TRF I had foot surgery on Monday, was walking on it by Wed. And I was at camp by Friday. I rode around the weekend in a carriage decorated wheel chair. And earned my Rennie name form Lady Dra.
My friend was in a motorcycle wreck in July broke all but 4 of his ribs, tore up his knee, and I don't know what else. He was determined to get to faire even if they had to wheel him around on a gerney, he was going.
You have dedication. Good luck....

DAMN! that's hardcore.
Gosh, I have NOTHING to compete with such a tale.... but I can DEFINITELY relate!!! Faire means the world to me and my sister and we spend most of our year and most of our extra $ on faire stuff!!
