Trapped in Mundania!
I sit here as the monotonous drone of "Earned Value Computation" pierces my withering pate and dream of cold crisp air, dust motes sparkling in beams of sunlight as the Texas sun creeps up from its slumber. A viking to my left fills boda bags with his homemade mead, affectionately called "tittymead" due to the effects it has upon our faire maidens. A couple of scotsman and their pirate wench lasses sip from flasks filled with "the old country" and shiver in the morning coolness. A Barbarian, towering 6 foot 4 inched in height adjusts the straps on his weapons, leather creaking with his movements. Around us patrons and Playtrons gather in their groups of friends, hustling and bustling about to make sure they have all they need for the day at the Faire. Like trying to herd cats, I usher the throng forward, towards the castle gates, and the Texas Renaissance Festival. Wooden flagons and sheathed blades clatter and rattle from their places on our belts. Dresses rustle and boots clomp across the dusty path. Voices seem to quiver with the electric excitement. Through the trees we spy the battlements, w hear the raucous clamour of the crowd. Throught the gates we pass, transported to our magical realm.
3 mundane days. Then the fun begins.
HAZZAH!!!
Couldn't have said it better myself Hawkwind!
Can't wait until I pass through the gates again Saturday morning....*sigh*
Yes, one more day and then I to will leave this debauchery of mundane world. Were by I will change into my kilt in the parking lot of work and make the 600 mile drive to a whole nother world. I"M SO READY!

a 600 mile drive in a kilt! You sir, will be well ventilated!
Safe travels and I hope to see you at the PoW Saturday after the parade.
Hawkwind,
You have a fair turn of phrase, good sir! Very evocative of the particular mystique that permeates all things Faire. Thank you for the lovely vision. Wish I were there...
Hawkwind.....
You forgot about the little jingly things on boots, and on the hips of the lovely lasses! Otherwise well spoken!!
Wow, this imagery is amazing and really makes me feel like I'm there.... even though I'm currently sitting in Mundania myself at my computer screen wishing and hoping for 4pm to come soon!!!
Beautifully said Hawkwind! You are a bard indeed!
I am anxious to escape back to the realm where I am HOME!
Where fun and magick rule the day! AHHH! TRF. My idea of heaven!
The MeowMobile is packed! I just push the TRF button and I am magically THERE!
