Title: 2000 year old earring discovered
Post by: DonaCatalina on November 11, 2008, 08:48:00 AM
A 2,000 year old gold earring inlaid with pearls and precious stones was discovered in excavations that the Israel Antiquities Authority is conducting in the Giv'ati car park at the City of David, in the "Walls around Jerusalem National Park". The excavations are being carried out jointly with the Nature and Parks Authority and are underwritten by the Ir David Foundation. (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/11/081110173709.htm)

I'd like to see some jewelry designer copy these and sell them at a Fair. I'd love to have a pair like this.

It is pretty. I think the hardest part of making it would be the gold frame around the big pearl. But then that's just my opinion.
