I want to make this French gown circa 1540.

I have some Kelly green dupioni for the foresleeves and the forepart of the skirt. The turnbacks are the same fabric as the dress. But I can't make up my mind which color to go with for the main body of the dress.

You can go a couple of different ways with that shade of green. I think a nice russet red would go well but almost any fall color should work. I'd stay away from purples/yellows simply because of the "Mardi Gras" look that will go with that. So brown, black, red, and maybe a dark orange would work.
You could also go with pastels but I think you'd look better in the deeper richer colors that were more popular in that era.
Wow--kelly green is hard to match. The swatch actually looks teal on my screen, but I trust you when you say kelly green.
What about a beautiful rich saffron or gold velvet (http://cgi.ebay.com/Silk-VELVET-Fabric-GOLD-45-By-The-Yard_W0QQitemZ220312454190QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Fabric?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116)? Nothing too tan/brown.
Or a deep, rich brown? This one (http://www.silkbaron.com/silk/color.aspx?collectionid=1&categoryid=38&colorid=237) seems to have a bit of grey in it, which is nice.
Really dark plum purple (http://www.silkbaron.com/silk/color.aspx?collectionid=1&categoryid=38&colorid=237)? (I personally love green and purple together--but Isabella's right about the Mardi gras thing.)
If you went with a wine red (http://www.silkbaron.com/silk/color.aspx?collectionid=3&categoryid=23&colorid=118), I'd like to see something more complex, like maybe with purple and brown undertones to it. Not just a straight bright wine color.
I love the suggestion of the dark brown, almost greyish toned, fabric.
Also, a brocade with a hint of the green tone opposite another colour could be awesome. Not easy to find, I admit. Maybe not even easy to imagine... but... imagine if this one has had some green elements: http://www.housefabric.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=30705
It would have been très funky with your green fabric, if the tones matched.
My first thought was a rich chocolate brown. I saw a gown of a different style in that color combination and it was lovely.

I like this fabric.....but the green silk is so bright it clashes with the green accents in other fabrics. I'm toying with the idea of a deep green velvet or a burnt orange velvet.........I also like the plum suggestion.
Keep the ideas coming!

How about Black and Gold?

For the actual gown portion of the Henrician?
(http://i15.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/e7/18/a83c_1_sbl.JPG) I think this sort of golden hue would look smashing with the colors you have
Or this red, or perhaps a wine or burgundy red
