For some reason when I try to go in to chat, I get a log-in screen (even though I'm already logged in) and so I put my info in. I get a response saying I'm blocked... How do I go about getting this fixed?
The new chat system requires a login to the main web site. Go to www.renaissancefestival.com and click on register in the CB Login box on the left side of the screen, register on the main site and then it should work for you. I haven't been able to find a way to integrate the logins between the main site and the forums yet.
okay, did as instructed and the registration was completed. however, when i tried to log in, still said i am blocked....
Bonney, are you using your login name and password that you use to enter the forums? For myself to get on the chat system I needed to come up with a different password and login than I used for the forums. You may want to try that. (A new login in name and password for the chat system, different from the forum login and password)
that was a good suggestion lady serena, but it didn't work due to my email address already being recognized... :-\

Now, how do I navigate? There is only the 'General' screen showing up and I don't see any links to the other chat areas.
Also, I need to reset my password and I don't see any area to be able to do that either.

There should be a link at the top of the screen, above the logo, that says RF Chat. Click on that.
To change your password click CB Details in the user menu then select edit - update you profile. Once there click the contact info tab, you password settings are there.

That's odd, it seems to be working fine for me. What is your username on the main website?

Is there something we need to do to access the Chatroom? It said "You Can't Access The Chat" in red across the bottom. I logged in to the main site and tried again and got the same thing. Please advise. Username is Nitestar.

Still having problem. Not sure what screen to use to access. When I attempt from the forum screens, I get the "cannot access chat" message. On the home screen, I cannot find a "chat button" and tried to get in the Meta Log-in. Keeps coming up with bad username message.
I can get to the login now but it tells me: You can't access the chat.
I am using the same username and password as the forums, i even
logged out and back into the forums to verify i was using the correct
username/password.
Yesterday, once, the login screen let me in. All past tries, and again today, it doesn't. Read back to beginning of this thread, and also was going to try the directions there, but the page referred to doesn't even come up, so that was a bust. Must be those evil terrorist Peeps again. Huzzah! Linda

If you could try it now I'd appreciate it. I found a setting change I didn't know about in the new version and the problem should be resolved. If you connect to chat after you've logged into the forum it will use your forum credentials. That is the only way authentication works for this chat system and guests can not currently use it. If you connect to the chat and later try again and get the chat login just go back to the forum and log out and back in and that should clear it up. There is a little bit of a disconnect between the logout of chat to return to the forum and being logged into the forum forever. When you click the logout to get out of the chat system and are set to stay logged in forever to the forum and go back to the chat system after the timeout (5 minutes) the chat system thinks you've logged out when you try to return. Please let me know if it is working now.

Wahoo!!!!! I made it into the chat! Of course there was no one else IN the chat room, but I still made it in! =) One step at a time...
Look at the bottom of the main forum page. Under Users Online it will tell who is in the Chat room.
