none of my rennie friends do this, why do the Mundanes? After recieving the same stupid Hoax e-mail from all of my family all on the same day.....I have Finally snapped,Yes I need another cup of Tea, & maybe chocolate, but for crying out loud...think, People! That is why the almighty gave us Brains, use them.
E-mail
With the Birth of the Internet, and all its wonders e-mail has quickly became its Bastard child. E-mail carries Viruses, hoaxes, guilt trips, chain letters, porn, and it all falls under the heading SPAM. "Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages. While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media." (wikipedia)
Every one reports to HATE SPAM.... then why is there so much of it in my In-box?
It isn't coming from random folks that I only communicate with once in a blue moon; it is all coming from FAMILY and FRIENDS!
Aunt/Uncle/Friend #1 sends it their family/friend list...they in turn send it to their family list ect, ect...It lands in my Inbox not once but anywhere from 3-15 times...& since My FAMILY and FRIENDS Might actually send me something Important, I can not relegate their e-mail addresses to the Junk E-mail folder.
Therefore some things to consider:
How many of you have actually looked at ALL the e-mail forward addresses? How many times has it already been forwarded? Has it already reached the people you intend to forward it to? If it has DON'T SEND IT AGAIN!
Virus Warnings, Missing Children, Money Sharing, think about what you have read, what specifics are missing? Dates? Times? Then check www.snopes.com, or www.Breakthechain.org if it is a Hoax...Guess what, DON'T SEND IT!
Jokes, Funny/amazing Pictures, if you really have to forward it, please trim the excess forwarded addresses. Hit forward and in the message body Left click at the beginning holding your mouse key drag down, highlighting each section of forwarded addresses. When you have reached the actual Joke, release the left key and hit Delete. It's easy; it's simple & makes the e-mail easier to load when the next person opens it. Does this seem like too much hassle? Guess what, DON'T SEND IT!
E-mail was intended to be a quick way of communicating...when was the last time you sent e-mail asking "How are you today?" or have you already sent that person 10 meaningless forwards?
READ, THINK, TRIM, SEND, or DELETE you have options, use them.
AMEN BROTHER A M E N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more. You should paste your well-put rant in an email and send it 'round the world!
Actually, I've seen parts of this rant before ... doesn't make it any less valid. Such things perturbe me as well.
I will add one more - why is it that most of these "usual offenders" will send this kind of oft-repeated garbage - including the "guilt friendship" chain letter (the ones that have you send it back to them so they will KNOW you are their friend and/or love them) -
yet, will not take a few minutes to compose a simple "Hi! How are you doing? I've been thinking of you... etc." note - or at least reply to your note asking the same of them? :P
Unfortunately, even after asking two people I know (one is my dad) to stop sending me chain letters, political crap and such.....it's done no good. I still get them, so I still delete them.

Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhh!
I seriously thought about sending it to my family....my luck it would be forwarded back to me by each & every one of them ::)
Instead I posted it to my Blogg on Blogger, Here, & Etatters...I hope one of those is where Molden has seen peices of this before...would hate to have copied from anyone :-\

I'm a little different I really don't mind its pretty much the only contact I have with family members. At least I know they are still alive, I don't bother reading them messages but at least if I'm getting them they are still alive to send them.
Don't use the phone I hate phones and will only use it if forced.

/sigh
Yeah, tell me about it.... ::)
Someone sent this to me; I play it when the junk email gets to be too much:
For those of you who are sick of getting emails that tell you to forward to at least X number of people in the next 15 minutes so that wonderful things and miracles will happen if you do and there will be consequences if you don't, then you will enjoy this. This is hilarious!

Nah - wasn't suggesting it was copied - but, I believe similar minds have said/shared much the same. I have seen the suggestion (which I agree with) that if you are gonna forward sumpin' - remove all the other forwards/email addresses, etc. ...umm forwarded before. And believe it or don't - those who forwarded that idear - actually followed the suggested course of action (removing the forwards)! :o Shocking, no?

lol I googled "think before you forward" and found several rants Similar to mine, so while it took me longer to reach this point My wording is still original ;D *whew*
There is an instance mentioned of folks Not cleaning the "Forwards" and his E-mail account was suspended for Spam activity, and another even said that it could shut down a server....Scary.
